Your thoughts? I am starting to be intrigued by alternative fuel vehicles. I don't drive much as it is.

and yet our government continues to subsidize the fossil fuel industry to the tune of about $20 billion/year while the companies that comprise that industry get fat on profits

And donate those profits to KU Athletics--conundrum.

Thoughts are that until corporations snd governments change their carbon footprint in real ways.... we can all ride witches broomsticks and it wont make a damn bit of difference.

Sure, and thats fair. But if were looking to solve the larger problem, guilt trippin the public is the wrong approach in my mind

i think it’s great

i’ve mentioned this before...electric cars have their own inherent problems with the disposal/recycling of the batteries. they can’t be the ultimate solution

i’ve mentioned this before...electric cars have their own inherent problems with the disposal/recycling of the batteries. they can’t be the ultimate solution

Not to mention, a lot depends on how electricity is generated where you live/charge.

Not to mention obtaining the lithium thats required to mass produce these batteries

We have a real consumption problem. We need to think less consumption and more conservation.

Fun fact: a century ago “conservation” as we know it now wasn’t even a thing, and any use of the term was in reference to “conserving” all available resources for human consumption.

I didn’t leave North America until I was in my mid 20s. I was caught WAY off-guard with there being so little plastic (comparatively) in Europe. Glass everything. No straws. And so on.

Fair enuf, but our faces wouldn't be so red if we hadn't, for years, sent our plastic refuse there, nominally for "recycling"
