It’s going to be delightful when Florida officially becomes Panama, but with seats in Congress and electoral votes.

You forgot the question mark.
Oh shit, it really wasn't a question...was it?

And a tired "I'm just asking the question" schtick.

Re: Dumbfuck in charge
I assume he was trying to imply that there was no investigation currently happening into Cuomo and this was proof of the entire world picking on poor little republicans like Trump. So the whole lame attempt amuses me.
Re: Dumbfuck in charge
Yeah, what do these loosers think they’re doing?
Shouldn’t they be like opening more investigations into Benghazi and shit?

Re: Dumbfuck in charge
After I read that this morning, I started thinking about how Trump the individual really isn't all that relevant anymore. However, Trump as an avatar for all that is truly evil about the present R base (it all comes down to race and class, folks), is staggeringly important.
So it just doesn't do all that much anymore to attack Trump's own character (which, to the extent there is any, is of course fetid and rotten). It's about getting people to understand that there's presently two pluralities in this country. One is generally well-intentioned and generally grounded in fact, although not without its flaws. The other denies all reality in service of cementing minority (wealthy white male) rule.
It's just not more complicated than that.
And I still think the best thing the Ds (and sane former Rs like me) can do is just make people's lives better. You just have to trust that the results will follow.

Yea.
If there’s an issue, though, in that statement, it’s that there may be a certain cultural or ideological belief held by a lot of Mericans that gummint can’t, and even shouldn’t, make people’s lives better?

Right. So, what, 150 million people voted, and (broad strokes here guys), 40% voted for Trump? 40% of 40% of 150 million is 24,000,000.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 10:46 am jfc

Estimates seem to range from 1/4 to 1/6 of Americans have diagnosable mental health issues. Let's use 1/6.
That's 4,000,000.
50% of republicans have guns, so now we have (ballpark) 2,000,000 or so armed, mentally-ill people who agree that “if elected leaders will not protect America, the people must do it themselves, even if it requires violent actions”.
You see the problem here! It only takes a tiny fraction of that already-risky population for something really fucking bad to happen!
