The NBA will do everything in their power to try and get the Lakers to the NBA Finals.

This is unfair. The NBA works ceaselessly on officiating to make sham outcomes seem plausible. They do better than the NFL because Brady.

I have to assume the NBA (network/s and advertisers too) would also want the Nets in the Finals.
As popular as Giannis is, Milwaukee and Utah or Memphis would be a nightmare for them.

The NBA is conniving to get LeBron and the Lakers to the finals by secretly dictating how their officials call the games. Also lizard people control the planet and birds arent real.

Tim Donaghy says hello. ;)

My inner Lobster leads me to believe the NBA actually does "suggest" how refs call games.
I say that being that I've been to approximately 700 NBA games in my lifetime.
I have seen the same refs call games differently and be almost blatantly inconsistent with their calls.

Serious respectful question/s because I swear I do care. What if anything is your issue with me?
I hardly think you have insecurity issues (I admit at times I do and I used to be much worse) so maybe that's why I "humble brag" without being aware I am doing it.
I honestly don't understand how/why you think that my saying I have been to 700 NBA games is a "humble brag". Obviously it is in your eyes and very well may be in the eyes of others so please help me to understand why you do. Thanks in advance.

One more question to help me to understand. Do you feel it's "humble brags" when you tell us about your car/s, properties, traveling, etc.?

I know it's not directed at me and I don't have any problems with you Gutter... But that may be the understatement of the decade.

Right, and to me it's interesting how some people choose to be assholes towards me because of it (and other mental issues I suffer from) and others choose to be compassionate. Why do you think that is?

Anyways, let's move on to Basketball.

Trae doing Trae things tonight and I actually feel sorry for D. Rose right now. Dude is balling his ass off and wants to win so badly. Series is far from over but I'm wondering if Knicks fans will blast Thibs if they lose the series.

On another note, I know I am crazy so no need to call me crazy but I can't help but wonder if the Nets coaching staff of what - 100 guys? - has helped or hurt them this season.
I would be really interested to see how the team would do with NO coaching staff. My guess is not much better and not much worse.

You basically have 4 types of posts Gutter:

1) Some remote claim to fame of someone you know 3 times removed....met in passing....saw.

2) Some tragedy that you kind of, sort of, actually didn't witness. Including local news stories of something that happened somewhere in the Chicago area that you can link back to yourself.

3) A dying, soon to die, deathly ill friend/relative tale that somehow is expected to draw a bunch of "sorry to hear that" and "it's gonna get better Gutter" comments.

4) "Why are you so mean to me?" Posts.

I am never trying to brag, never my intent.
I speak of my interests, most of which center around enabling myself to retire debt free by age 60. I am on track to do so, and I take a significant amount of pride in that.

I apologize if I hurt your feelings, that was not my intent. But you have definitely become more abrasive and butt hurt over the past 2 years.
Please, save me the tale of why.

And grow the fuck up.

I have no data to really support this but the Jazz/Suns have got to be the worst top 2 seeds in the West in a really long time.

Clever response!
I sure hope I'm wrong but Kyrie seems like the type of guy we're going to read something tragic about not long after his NBA career is over.

Thank you for taking the time to make your post.
My respectful response - that I don't really expect you to respond to but I would appreciate if you answered my questions.

1. Seems that bothers you. If it's on topic - why? Would you prefer I post shit that is bland and off topic?
In YOUR eyes am I supposed to feel guilty for living places, traveling to places, and knowing a lot of people that have enabled me to see/meet others and be in the situations to see/meet others?

2. I live in a big city. I am out and about often. I see and witness things. People such as Cascadia (and now it seems you as well) feel the need to accuse me of lying. Why? In terms of linking things back to myself, again I ask you - In YOUR eyes am I supposed to feel guilty for living places, traveling to places, and knowing a lot of people that have enabled me to see/witness things that happen around me?

3. This may NOT be respectful.
If you had an ounce of decency and any fucking idea what my brother in law (and sister - and me to a lesser degree) are going through right now I would hope you would have the decency to say "sorry to hear that".
It's NOT going to get better so I'm not looking for that/those responses.
When I share that someone I care about is dying I MAY do it for sympathy and if I do - you really have a problem with it? If so, wtf is the matter with you?

4. Right. I would like to know why some are people "so mean" to me. What purpose does it serve them?

In respones to the rest of your post...

I too speak of my interests. Things that I have experienced and witnessed. If it comes off as bragging, so be it. It is what it is and people can interpret it as they choose. I recognize and acknowledge I have lived a "charmed" life and I say that because I am grateful and appreciative for it. As I have stated in the past, I was adopted by phenomenal parents and have had the good fortune of having a wonderful family and friends.

I truly mean it when I say - fantastic if you can and will retire debt free by age 60. I'm sincerely happy for you if you can/will do it and you should take pride in it.

As far as your apology, not necessary but I sincerely appreciate it. One of my MANY faults that I openly admit to is that I am a sensitive (overly?) person.
Perhaps I have been more abrasive and butt hurt. It's been a very tough couple of years for me. I come on here to "escape" and unfortunately it seems my personal life factors in to my posts.
I will save you and everyone else the explanations but my hope would be that people could not necessarily forgive me but perhaps be a little more understanding.

In regards to you telling me to "grow the fuck up", I have mixed feelings. If you are saying that in terms of constructive criticism then I say thank you and duly noted. If you're saying it out of malice, then I don't say thank you and who the heck are you to tell me to grow the fuck up?

Once again I say.....
Back to the NBA.

Last night's games..........
Hawks/Knicks - Here is an interesting (at least to me) stat.
Derrick Rose was the best player on the floor for the Knicks last night. Meanwhile he had the worst +/- out of ALL the players on BOTH teams who played in the game. Almost twice as bad as any other player.

Nets/Celtics - I don't think he's underrated per se but Jayson Tatum is a hell of a player and I feel he deserves a shitload of respect.
If someone told you Durant would have 39 points and 9 rebounds and Harden would have 41 points and 10 assists you would probably assume they were the two best players on the floor and the Nets won.

Clippers/Mavs - Now we have a series.
Kawhi and PG stepping up with Marcus contributing (at least scoring wise) was great to see if you're a Clippers fan. If they had lost last night, Clippers fans would probably be thinking shit - here we go again. As far as Luka, shame he's in a league with so many other superstars - only because I think his greatness sometimes is overshadowed. I would be curious to see if there was a fan vote not for favorite but most likable player - where he would be ranked. I would guess top 5.

Because Tim Donaghy gambled on games he refd and was caught and kicked out of the league and gutter went to 700 games, the NBA is fixed and birds arent real.

What I mean is, bad shit happens. To everyone, all the time.

You can either cry "jinx", clutch your pearls and whine about it, or you can let it go and get on with what is left of your short, shitty life.

Of course it is terrible when bad things happen.....but they happen.

I suppose I am jaded, but I choose not to dwell on the negative or tragic. You seem to need it.

Man it’s been so long since I read that dude’s book, but didn’t he claim he never bet on games he was calling?

And didn’t he claim games are fixed, in the sense “star treatment” really is a thing?

Never said the NBA is "fixed" (and probably never will) but I feel you're being naive if you don't think the NBA "office" has a bearing on how the refs officiate games and the refs discuss among/st themselves how they are going to officiate games.
700 games in person or not, YOU (pdub) don't see games where the same refs let shit fly and other games they call ticky tack shit?
Why do you think players have come out and said that refs are purposely inconsistent - because they are lying?
