1) I am still amazed that literally over a decade later that Gutter is able to hijack threads. I genuinely believe it is a skill.
2) Why the fuck can't people control themselves at sporting events? The pandemic seems to have made everything worse.
1)
A. I started this thread.
B. Please forgive me ignorance. Sure I have hijacked threads (and at times acknowledged and apologized for it in the actual post) but where/when did I hijack THIS thread?
Maybe I don't fully understand the definition of hijacking a thread.
Cascadia made a snide comment on page 13. I responded to his comment.
Jeeper accused me of the "humble brag" on page 13. I responded to his post.
I responded to Mjl's non-NBA post on page 16.
Jeeper made another non-NBA post on page 16 and I responded to it.
Did I not attempt to bring the thread back on topic several times that others brought it off topic?
2)
A. I wish I knew the correct answer to your question. My three theories are that alcohol plays a role for some/many/most who do it, the need to feel important and get themselves noticed - in an age where social media is so prevalent, and some people are just assholes.
B. I don't know about "everything" but it sure seems many things.
Looking like the Clippers are going to win tonight. I figure if they do, they win the series.

Getting back on the thread topic........
Anyone? Anything?
I was unaware of Luka's ailment. Makes sense why he was off last game.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Posted about Embiid on the Embiid thread. Left tonight's game with a sore knee and it looked like back too.
On another note. An issue with a fan AGAIN. At what point does the NBA put a barrier around the floor and a net up to protect the players from fans from throwing shit?

Not funny that most of us laughed at Quin as a coach for several years.
The guy just MAY be one of the 5 best coaches in the NBA. I would like to think it's his assistants that help make the Jazz team (complete) and players as individuals better, but I have little doubt Quin deserves his due.

Ya he's turned out to be a great nba coach. I was/am surprised at his success but that's mostly due to mizzou hate.MJ23 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:10 am Not funny that most of us laughed at Quin as a coach for several years.

Speaking of fans throwing popcorn...
Re: NBA 2020/2021
For several years, Snyder deserved to be laughed at. He seems to have gotten his act together and developed into a really good coach. Snyder has become what Mizzou was hoping he'd be back when they hired him instead of Self.MJ23 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:10 am Not funny that most of us laughed at Quin as a coach for several years.

Sometimes the line between home run hire and total failure is all about timing.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
I wish the gif kept going, cuz I thought he just kept walking with his head hung even lower cuz he knew what a mizzou looser he was
Re: NBA 2020/2021
every time the jazz and snyder are in the local news i can’t help but envision that gif
it always elicits a chuckle

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Lebron has never lost in the first round of the playoffs....this might be the year.
I just bet $25 on him at +500 to get a triple double tonight....but i don't feel good about their chances to win as 5pt underdogs.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
That's one of the things I think LeBron does NOT get enough credit for. Never losing in the first round.
LeBron getting a triple double +500 seems like a tempting wager. Here is a crazy thought, watch him get it with 10 steals. I don't think he's ever had 10 steals in a game.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
He's never even lost back to back games in the first round (if i heard ESPN correctly).
I think they probably lose tonight.
The X factor will be Drummond. Without AD maybe he can look like Detroit Drummond.
Re: NBA 2020/2021
Blowout city. LeBron going to play every single minute tonight until they give up it looks like.
Edit: said that and they finally subbed him out.

Re: NBA 2020/2021
Lillard ridiculous tonight, Blazers wasted his performance
Re: NBA 2020/2021
5 don't get me wrong thoughts for an early Wednesday morning....
1. Shame on me for ever having doubts about Dame's greatness. Don't get me wrong, I knew he was a great player but felt he wasn't in the "elite" category. Now I do. Not just based on last night but by going back and really assessing that I didn't give him the credit he's due.
2. I've always been a Lakers fan. I have mad respect for LeBron both on and off the floor - despite my not being as big of a fan of him as some/many/most are. That being said, I don't and won't shed a tear for him and the Lakers if they lose the series. Dude had a great gig in Miami and fled for what he felt would be greener pastures, then he had a great gig in Cleveland and then left for what he felt would be greener pastures, now that he's in LA and won a 'ship, let's see if he retires a Laker or leaves for what he feels will be greener pastures. Don't get me wrong, I do feel players should have the right to go where they feel they have the best chance to win a 'ship but it's not like he didn't have a great chance to win more 'ships in Miami and Cleveland - and the dude made a HUGE deal out of his love for Cleveland and how he would win 7 'ships in Miami.
3. Bucks/Nets
Pre playoffs most under the radar team vs. most over the radar team? I'll predict the Nets in 6.
Most NBA fans appreciate Giannis' greatness but I feel this series may have a bigger bearing on his "legacy" than anything else he's done so far. Don't get me wrong, of course winning the MVP the last 2 seasons will establish him as being one of the best players of all time but..... If he can lead a team over 3 (4 if we count Blake Griffin ?) future hall of famers (two of which won league MVP awards) and is favored (heavily?) to win the East, then to me it will be his greatest accomplishment to date.
4. It's 2016. Someone tells you the 10-72 76ers, 21-61 Nets, 23-59 Suns, 33-49 Bucks, 33-49 Nuggets, 40-42 Jazz would be the top 6 seeded teams in the 2021 playoffs - I think you would feel they were nuts but I think you might be happy for fans of EVERY team that "parity" in the NBA doesn't last and how difficult it is to have a dynasty in today's NBA. Don't get me wrong, while I feel it's probably a good thing (for fans of ALL teams) that things change in regards to teams sustained success, I do miss the dynasties. Such as the 80s Lakers, 80s Celtics, 90s Bools, 2000s Spurs, and I guess I would include the shorter early 2000s Lakers dynasty.
5. I was hoping for a Lakers / Nets finals. I will be (or would have been) very happy if the 76ers made/make the Finals too.
If the Jazz, Suns, or Nuggets play the Bucks (decent possibility) or Hawks (highly doubtful) I would have much less interest. Don't get me wrong, a Jazz, Suns, or Nuggets vs. the Bucks series very well might be an outstanding Finals, it just doesn't have the same luster to me.
