Two bits of news today......
I was selected for the Dead & Company pre-sale tomorrow. Fine and dandy but....
A) Doesn't say which show/s. I had to request anywhere from 1 to 4 shows. I requested 4. 2 in Chicago, 2 in Los Angeles.
B) Pre-sale tickets are usually shit seats. They sort of con you. Unless.... There is a "GA Pit". Then they often sell SOME of those in the pre-sale. I'm fine with that and actually prefer being up close in the "pit" at Wrigley Field but there is probably no "pit" possibility at the Hollywood Bowl.
C) Of course I have a major issue. I am traveling during the pre-sale. I'll probably be going through airport security and/or boarding a plane when they go on sale - while dealing with an 87 year old women who needs a wheel chair and "assistance".
Lollapalooza will take place in full capacity which is wonderful but......
A) Seems they are limiting some of the usual "perks". For example, VIP usually included free food and drinks and Platinum enabled you to have stage access for most bands. Looking at the website - seems not this year.
B) Line up will be announced at 10:00am but tickets won't go on sale until 12:00pm. Hopefully I will have wi-fi on the plane and usually only the GA sell out quickly but I really don't want to have to pay a premium to a re-seller.
C) As usual, most of the rumored headliners I have seen before.
Dead & Company....
Lollapalooza....
Not a huge Portugal the Man fan but hear them open with Metallica, Pink Floyd, and then Purple, yellow, red, and blue is/was kind of cool in a festival setting.....

I've been a Blur fan since 1994. Been a Gorillaz fan since 1999, but their newer stuff isn't as good.

Humanz is a great album. Took me about 5 runs through it to realize how good it actually is.

Soo Sheryl Crow
I thought a few of her songs weren’t bad growing up.
Then Painter ruined her for me. He pointed out from his Granasty days that her voice is all tinny and hollow, and I never could get past that since.
But they had some live show on the teevee the other night, and I left it on. Her voice does suck, but the songs aren’t bad. Recognized more than I thought I would. Didn’t realize how rootsy it is - not many 90s pop singers can integrate slide guitar, but there it is.
I’d put her down as dumb mizzou trash, but I mean she did also date Kid Rock, so I figure that’s mizzou trash punishment enough.
