I could be reading too much into it, but I feel like the viral bear video above is a result of dog-loving-owner culture becoming way over the top.

I can see adrenaline kicking in, and a defensive owner reacting the same way they’d react to if a stray dog or something was bothering their pets, without necessarily stopping to consciously process it’s a fuckin bear

personally, i look outside before letting the pups out

we’ve encountered plenty of wildlife on hikes, and neither dog ever goes nuts like that. they may attempt to approach, but are trained to be obedient and listen

Speaking of who saved who, I just climbed a 22 foot ladder to get my cat out of a tree.

re: who saved who

i’m amazed at the number of news headlines i see where a family pet “rescued” or “saved” a family member or members from a dangerous animal

i’m sure there are some cases where that was the pet’s motivation, but it’s such a silly notion, imo

Lassies are few and far between

And risk BUD getting clawed/popped open? That's 19.99 I'd never get back.

You don't always have to fuck her hard.
In fact sometimes it's not right, to do.

I don’t miss that.

We have ticks at this elevation, but don’t think I’ve seen 6 of them in the last 10 years
