Royals
Re: Royals
Slam city tonight. Over 500.
Re: Royals
I am hoping we get back to starting series threads because the team is contending.

Re: Royals
After going 3-3 in the 6 games in Minnesota to start the year, happy to see them visit KC.
I may start a series thread.
11-6 over last 17. That's really good.

Re: Royals
ESPN:
18. Kansas City Royals
Record: 27-26
Previous ranking: 19
What a topsy-turvy team the Royals have been. After winning their first game in May, Kansas City stood 16-9, the best mark in the majors. They then lost 11 in a row. Ah, but then they bounced back, and after winning their first game of June, the Royals had won 11 of 17. All told, K.C. is a game over .500 and hanging around the postseason races. The breakout player in May was first-year Royal Andrew Benintendi, who might have put to rest any notion that the lackluster guy who slumped in Boston last season was in fact the player he'd become. Benintendi hit .340/.377/.443 in May, then started June with a five-RBI game that included a grand slam. Some of Benintendi's sagging Statcast-based metrics that worried so many, such as exit velocity and sprint speed, have largely bounced back to their pre-2020 levels.

Re: Royals
Cool to see Mondesi steal second in “The Show” commercial. His avatar injured its wrist it looked like though.
Salvy white hot.

HDH is now ZBS once Staumont returns. Olivares should not have been sent down IMHO too.

Re: Royals
Still haven't watched a game on the TeeVee because of Bally's. I did go to a game a few weeks ago because my Director was hosting the company suite. That was when the Royals were on their skid. Oh just to be able to watch my local team at home, what a concept.
Re: Royals
I am betting we get Witt to the Bigs after the West Coast road trip. . .
Re: Royals
Nine in the first. Whoa. One out. Whit free two liter in the first inning.
Re: Royals
Welp. First triple play I have ever seen. Thanks Nicky. Matheny pretty much blew two winnable games this weekend and now comes the dreaded west coast road trip. The Royals better call up some bats. Dozier and Soler have been dreadful.
Re: Royals
Matheny blew this pretty bad. The kid was scared shitless. Salvy was terrible catching him. Needed to call him up for the Twins series. Let him acclimate. Nope. ERA of 36-plus
Re: Royals
I tend to look for the bright side in these things. You could see what the fuss is all about. That’s enough for me.

Re: Royals
He was just waaaaaay too amped. He spiked like 4 pitches. That's nothing more then nerves and excitement getting the best of him.

Re: Royals
The pitch mix (and quality) is uncommon. It's got swing-and-miss that, say, Singer just doesn't have. I expect he'll figure it out.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:58 amHe was just waaaaaay too amped. He spiked like 4 pitches. Re: Royals
I saw that first pitch and knew he was waaay too amped. I hope he wasn’t traumatized. Working a guy in over a few days is not overrated. Salvy couldn’t even block the screw change. Matheny has blown three winnable games in a row. Just lacks some common sense. At least Dozier was looking good. Need Witt. End the Merrifield at 2B era. Merrifield blew several defensive plays over the current streak.

Re: Royals
The ideal move is to put Whit in RF, Mondi at 2nd and Witt at SS. And I suspect we will see that in July.

Re: Royals
We will see it for the 2 innings that Mondesi is healthy in July.
