Having worked in a tourism economy for years myself, the only time I’ve ever heard of locals bending over backward to be accommodating when they’re not on the clock, is if they’re trying to bang you.

I got that vibe, but then again, people are always trying to bang me.

Disdain for those who smoke weed AND refuse to work for a living, yes. Also those who do not smoke weed but refuse to work for a living. Last I checked, those folks aren’t confined to a particular geographic region.

Disdain for those who smoke weed AND refuse to work for a living, yes. Also those who do not smoke weed but refuse to work for a living. Last I checked, those folks aren’t confined to a particular geographic region.

I am going to disparage folks who disparage others who they believe don't work for a living because it is short-hand for acceptable racism or classism. The working poor is a thing. And the continuous movement of the Social Security goal posts are not great for retirement. Too many Americans work themselves to death leaving the next generation struggling the same way. With many food and service industry folks refusing to be grifted, maybe we can have a sensible conversation about fair pay in an automated world where corporations and the wealthy contribute less and less in taxes, but more and more to politics.

Man it felt great saddling up to the bar maskless and ordering a Coors Light and a shot o jamo and watching women’s lacrosse, Cubs/Reds and some golf tournament in Texas that was suspended.

Just went to the store maskless for the first time in over a year!

Not bad.

Kinda miss the mask though.

Caught myself mocking other customers in the store, got a dirty look, and realized I don’t have the mask to give cover any more.

But for real though, how long do y’all gotta stand there and deliberate over which flavor of Pringles to get?!

Mask were-ers are about 10% of the population here. Maybe less.

Noticed this morning that about 90% of the shoppers at the downtown farmer's market were wearing masks. No new cases in over a week here in Lawrence.
