Can’t say it enough. Your freedom ends when you kill other people. Just grow the fuck up and get vaccinated petulant whiny-assed trolls.
This.

We shouldn't be talking about mandatory vaccines, or incentives, or passports. Everyone should just do what's right. Why (absent the misinformation campaigns) would anyone not want to be immunized against a disease that can kill you?!?

I was trying to come up with an analogy for the people not getting vaccinated but benefitting from those of us that do. All I could come up with was the people who ignore "left lane closed ahead" signs and speed along in the left lane, while the rest of us gradually merge over...and they speed up until the get to the cones and then cut their way in. Only the stakes are much much higher.

The funny thing about these lame ass freeloaders, sucking on the tit of our approaching herd immunity, is they're the same assholes upset because someone went on unemployment or got a fucking food stamp.

Trump has been bragging about the vaccine, promoting it in every way he can. I have no desire or plans to get it, ever. Some of us are not on any team, politically speaking.

BTW, anyone watch Dr. Peter McCullough's interview he gave recently? Dr. McCullough is an internist, cardiologist, epidemiologist, and Professor of Medicine at Texas A & M College of Medicine, Dallas, TX USA. He has 40 peer-reviewed publications on the infection and has commented extensively on the medical response to the COVID-19 crisis.

This doctor has a lot of interesting things to say about the vaccine. Youtube removed his longer interview (can't allow anything to question the narrative), but you can find the condensed version here.

Oh no, I agreed with all your posts in this thread until now.

Zipper merge is absolutely the right thing to do and we'd all be better off if everyone did it.

"Do what's right"

That's the problem. I sincerely believe I am doing what's right, and so do the folks that do the opposite. I am sincerely worried about the potential for harm on people, just as you all are.

this is the greatest country on earth. by a wide margin. me and the old lady are heading north to one of those beautiful Michigan beach towns this weekend. eat, drink, hike, kayak, mellow out on the beach.

we are both vaccinated. don't care who else is or isn't.

there will be no riots. shootings. protests. just sunshine, cool breezes, craft beers and whitefish.

Did i mention i don't care who else is vaccinated.

You will when the virus mutates outside of the vaccination because assholes won't do the right thing. I am proud of you for the vaccination--prouder still when people reinforce its efficacy and safety talking to their friends online. Public health is a responsibility not a choice.

I said it was a bad analogy.
Zipper merge works when there are a lot of cars in all lanes. I was thinking of when you're on a two lane interstate in the middle of nowhere and there are a series of signs for miles and miles in advance to please get over, and then you can see the line of cars backing up, and so you get over, cause otherwise you're gonna be the asshole who basically cuts in line. Then the car behind you becomes that asshole and jumps ahead of you by 12 cars.

What a very unscientific post. The flu virus continues to mutate despite having a new vaccine every year. Covid is not going to be any different.

There are also people with sever auto-immune issues, or allergies, or children under a certain age, etc. who legitimately CAN'T get the vaccine.

If we all get the vaccine, then these people are at a much lower risk than otherwise.

The flu vaccine never gets much above ~65% protection rate. If it was 95% like the Covid vaccines, it might be different.

A lot of scientist are excited about the potential boost the flu vaccine might have. You can generate a stronger immune response, so it will be more protective, and because mRNA vaccines can be developed quicker, (1 month instead of 6 months) it takes the guess work out of it.

Oh I see, a raging pandemic never subsiding equals the seasonal flu. And what PhD said.
I think about the strong correlation between Anti-vaxxers and Christian Nationalism and then I think about my own religious upbringing and how those two things are in conflict with each other. I think about Matthew Chapter 25 which I think highlights some of the best that Christianity has to offer humanity:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
I wonder, how can anyone read that, believe it as part of their religious beliefs and then when given the chance to protect the weakest members of society, by getting a shot that might make them feel sluggish for a day or two....they're like NOPE, not doing it.

That's fine.

But just know, that means you're ignoring a mountain of other scientists who are more of an authority that Dr. McCullough, who almost unanimously agree with me.

You understand that this is something I ACTUALLY AM an expert on?

If we were talking about boats, or metallurgy, or foreign languages...and I pretended to be an expert, I'd get your post.

I have a PhD in molecular biology, I'm a microbiologist, I study pathogens and the immune system for a profession and have done so for the past ~15 years. I was a Covid19 vaccine trial biosafety committee member. I've reviewed a massive amount of data on this specific topic. Much of which is not yet publically available.
