Are Dire Straits, Rush and Genesis considered 80s? I’m a “classic rock” fan, so many of the bands mentioned here.

To me, Genesis is a 70's band. I lost interest in them about 1980 or so.

You're one of those guys who only likes Springsteen through the Nebraska album too, aren't you?

Put me down as anti-Springsteen.

Dire Straits definitely, but I was never a Rush fan.

Others:
- Depeche Mode
- The Cure
- The Smiths
- New Order
- Psychedelic Furs
- Violent Femmes
- Jesus & Mary Chain

I got more into the "alternative" 80's music in HS.

More like someone doesn't enjoy listening to a guy with a Muppet voice mumble through what are allegedly songs. "Songs" that sound exactly like the "song" before it.

Only Trumpers hate Springsteen.

And without mumbling through songs we'd have never had Bob Dylan, or REM, or Pearl Jam

Bryan Adams was pretty good as well...Summer of '69, Cuts like a Knife, Run to you, Heaven. Also Mellencamp was Americana.

Yeah, I'm as big a trumper as Tdub

Dylan > Bruce

Which of the following would you rather listen to?

I always thought Weird Al shoulda parodied Springsteen with “baby we’ve both got the runs”

Did you even listen to the 1st one? It's like two different bands. And the latter isn't a good one.

“I’m on fire” is actually a song about an 85 bowel movement.
