Favorite 80's bands
Re: Favorite 80's bands
I like Johnny Cash.
I think I can only name 2 hank williams songs, Hey good lookin' and your cheatin' heart. But I'm not an old fart yet.
I reckon I wouldn't even know a George Jones song if'n I heard one.

Re: Favorite 80's bands
Growing up, my exposure to music was mostly limited to the four cassette tapes my parents owned.
One was “Willy Waylon Kris and Cash,” some compilation I think my dad bought at a truck stop, and was the best.
Another was Born in the USA.
The other two were Simon and Garfunkel, and the Eagles

Yeah, but Bye Bye Birdie would have different character names if it weren't for him.

If you're wearing a cowboy hat and you're not on a horse herding cattle, you're acting like an idiot.
Imagine a life so devoid of accomplishments that you feel the need to lie about working at McDonald’s.

If youre wearing a baseball cap and your not a 2nd baseman for the Yankees youre an idiot.....?
If you wear sandals and youre not Jesus, youre an idiot.

Depends on where you live. Texas you see men and women wearing cowboy hats all the time, especially in the Big D or H town. Now I don't own a cowboy hat, but I do have some "cowboy" boots...I love them. I've had them for years and ladies love them. Now they are black, so not "traditional" cowboy boots.

Still you, sorry.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 3:41 pmLOL.Overlander wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 3:39 pmWow, I didn't expect you to turn into a bitch on this.
I don't like Springsteen. Definitely do not like Pearl Jam. Never cared for REM.
Not sure how these opinions are shitting on anyone.
Still not gonna list the shit you listen too.
Who's the bitch?
I list music that I like quite often on this board.
If I need to list 80s music that like to get you back off the ledge:
The Clash
Joy Division
New Order
Sepultura
Echo and the Bunnymen
KLF
Black Flag
Hope this helps.

“Acting” being the operative word that you omitted, yes.
Grown men wearing baseball caps or jerseys outside a game or a gym are usually nerds who couldn’t play on an actual team and/or live in Mom’s basement. Can’t take them seriously.
I don’t know if sandals fit the analogy, but I never wear ‘em and am not a fan. The male toe is best left covered.

Re: Favorite 80's bands
I got a sort of cowboy hat just to keep the sun off me, but I’ve been told it’s more of an “outback” hat or something.
It looks like this.
But I don’t look like that tho.
My sideburns are way longer.

If you measure their height from the top of the hat, that’s almost 5’9”!JKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 4:57 pmAnd are compensating for the fact that they are 5’5”. (I thought that would be better than making a wingspan joke)
Re: Favorite 80's bands
Who cares what people wear? Does it make you feel better to make fun of them? KC is notorious for people wearing K-State and KU gear year round, even on the Plaza and NOT on game days. I wear what I want to wear and don't care what others think. And if somebody is shorter than average for a guy, who cares. I'm 6'0" and I don't make fun of friends that are shorter....it's genes, not something you can control. Maybe they are self conscious because jackasses like you poke fun at them. This isn't high school, but you act like you are still in HS.JKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 4:57 pmAnd are compensating for the fact that they are 5’5”. So, polo shirt, slacks and boat shoes. No hats. Only acceptable attire?
Can i wear jeans or is that acting like an idiot? Are sneakers ok....or only if I play for the Bulls?
