Re: Would you be on the Jury?
How many statues have been erected to commemorate the loosing effort by the confederacy?
Re: Would you be on the Jury?
Why is Chauvin’s mom addressing the court?

statues have been erected for much less worthwhile reasons, imo
Pretty sure this is where you usually ask people for specific examples. So which statues specifically have been erected for much less worthwhile reasons?

Wow. IMO, on the heavy end for 2nd degree, especially when there was no argument for 1st degree.

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
Between that and the pending federal charges (both for the Floyd incident and a separate but eerily similar incident between Chauvin and a 14 year old in ‘17), dude might be behind bars the rest of his life.
Wait - what’s the sentencing guidelines for the federal charges?
If only I wuz holding something in my hand right now that I could use to look these things up…

Extrapolating from the 281 known DNA exonerations in the US since the late 1980s, a conservative estimate is that 1% of the US prison population, approximately 20,000 people, are falsely convicted

Re: Would you be on the Jury?
And if you broke that 1% down, I’d bet certain demographics have been wrongfully convicted at a greater rate than others…

While horrible and inexcusable, I wonder what the percentage is of people who have committed heinous crimes and never spent a day in jail. I'm guessing upwards of 20%.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:34 pm Extrapolating from the 281 known DNA exonerations in the US since the late 1980s, a conservative estimate is that 1% of the US prison population, approximately 20,000 people, are falsely convicted
