PhDhawk wrote: Tue Jun 29, 2021 11:33 am I was at a bar, talking to this hippie chick last night. She said that all people who are pro-choice just want to murder babies, and most support infanticide. In fact, they want ALL pregnancies to be terminated, even the wanted ones. Their motivation, of course, is shorter wait times at the DMV.

What do you guys think? Let's have some intellectual dialogue about the bullshit I just posted.
I heard it was a huge scheme by the elites to depopulate the earth in an attempt to conserve the dwindling world resources for themselves and their heirs.

To be a little serious here, Ousie and I both grew up in the Catholic church. You probably know their stance on abortion and even birth control. I'm convinced their only motivation is more Catholics. That seems to be their primary motivation. More Catholics. More people over which to hold dominion, and collations.

I was trying to suggest some correlation between the pro-life movement and economics or classism, but apparently it’s a difficult discussion to have.
Because its fing insane. Theres no discussion to be had.
We live in an insane world full of every flavor of kook imaginable and I have a vivid imagination so I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few weirdos out there who see "more low class workers" as a fringe benefit of not allowing abortions. But I certainly don't think it is any more than a few true loonies let alone a driving reason behind it.

It seems that the driving force behind it is simply "because my pastor said it is bad."
Thats fine. If you want to have a serious discussion with Qusdahl about it, feel free. That would warm the cockles of his heart.

Because you keep asking, i assume you havent read any of the replies but instead want to keep this ridiculous farce afloat with additional insincere follow ups and blame shifting. General Qusdahl is facilitating deep discussion y'all.

I don’t recall you providing your postion. Every time I ask, you either don’t reply at all, or just get all worked up about how I’m the one moving goalposts.

Nothing wrong with this opinion. I'm certainly and unequivocally pro choice, particularly in certain circumstances. But you need to calm down Qusdahl.

You didnt see this because you dont give a shit, deep down.

you don’t see anything wrong with the hypocrisy of viewing life as sacred while in the womb, but then letting that ideal go out the door after birth?

and i know that doesn’t describe all pro-lifers

for me, i just don’t think abortion should be used as a means of birth control...i’m proud-choice, but generally anti-abortion
I was agreeing with you.

The best way to support life is to seriously address climate change and the ravages of over-population.

It’s not that I don’t give a shit. It’s that I thought you were responding to someone else.
