Re: Kids
What’s the most you’ve done for your kids?
I shorted a vacation by 2 days and flew out of a place 4 hours away because of my daughter National dance competition. But hey, ended with a credit voucher for next time!

Waiting to get my haircut. There's a kid here with his mom, I'm guessing 5 years old. Keeps yelling and screaming often at the highest pitch possible. Mother says nothing.

Definitely probably true for some. Others i think simply don't give a shit that their kids might possibly be bothering someone else.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 11:28 am i wonder how much of it is parents inadvertently toning out their own kids’ bs just cuz they’re so used to it

And, it's a pretty safe bet given the age of the child and the biology of reproductive years.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 11:45 amexcept this was a phenomenon prior to millennials or genz-ers even being born
but don’t let that stop you
Not too many 50+ women or under 10 year old girls with 5 year old children.

I interviewed at ETSU. Not only did Nashville feel like a world away, which it was, I thought I entered a time machine, went back in time, and then arrived on a different planet. If Kentucky is at all like Eastern Tennessee, it's not for me, I'm a hard pass.

Man. Much of my dad’s side of the far is a buncha backwoods hillbillies in the smoky mountains of eastern TN.
I’ve only been once, like 30 years ago for my great grandpa’s funeral. I remember it being so cool though.
For whatever reason, my dad won’t go back with me though. Not sure why, whether he has some personal hangup or just cuz he’s that stubborn or what.
I have an uncle there who apparently has his hand in moonshining. I mentioned I wanted to hang with him. That might be why my dad doesn’t want me going back.

Bourbon Trail, the Derby, Muhammad Ali museum.
In other words, a nice weekend visit once a lifetime.

Spent a couple weeks total in Knoxville for work. Wow, and that's one of their nicer places.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 12:26 pmI interviewed at ETSU.
