I’m old. I remember football games, across the Big 8, started at 1:00 pm. It wasn’t long ago, to me, when Memorial had no lights. Little to no television for KU. That’s a nice rhythm.

Basketball games were on Saturday afternoons (the winter sun coming through the windows) and Wednesday nights.

I give it 6 months before Fish, CNB and sports media start complaining about how "it's unfair and bullshit that we expect these paid, professional athletes to continue this dog and pony show of making them enroll in class and pretend to be students. It's a charade! It's archaic! It's exploitative! It's racist!" Plus it'll be "better for the game" if there were no restrictions to practice times and practice limits.

If you're lumping me into this, then either I haven't done a good job explaining my position or you haven't been paying attention.

All I know is that throughout these discussions I've been repeatedly told that I am the stupidest piece of shit who ever lived for thinking schools would immediately use NIL as a new form of recruiting. I was told it's a preposterous leap and a slippery slope argument. Then today the consensus narrative became. "Yeah, of course schools will do that...immediately, but it's ok. Won't change anything"

The flood waters are rising and continue to do so. You seem convinced they'll magically stop rising at the point you want. I hope you are right. But it's an assumption based on nothing.

I'm guessing the KUBB team has had multiple convos about how to handle this with prewritten requests similar to Brauns which really make me excited for future Jayhawk basketball.
