Oh maybe. I was thinking it was still free for all transfer rules.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:50 amHasn't the deadline to enter the portal passed? A transfer this late would mean they miss out on the chance to play immediately and have to sit out anyway, no?BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:44 am With Och Wilson and maybe Remy coming back i think it's highly possible we see a transfer or 2 in the next month or so.

Re: 21-22 lineup
because it’s KU, Self and Lawrence?
sure beats the hell out of Ames, plus the chance at a F4 and ‘ship
unless he was draftable, what’s there to loose? playing time is about it, but depending on what he sees in his future, KU might actually provide more benefit

Non basketball reasons. Fair enough.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:59 ambecause it’s KU, Self and Lawrence?

Re: 21-22 lineup
This will be what, his 7th year in college? You have to think if he had professional goals he would have pursued them by this point.

Because Och was gonna go pro

Re: 21-22 lineup
I can’t help but think the staff and JCL at least had some idea Och might return.
And I think JCL, worst case, stands to compete for good minutes even if he isn’t starting. But he might even compete for starting

Getting coached by a Hall of Famer at a top tier school is hardly "non basketball reasons".BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:01 amNon basketball reasons. Fair enough.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:59 ambecause it’s KU, Self and Lawrence?

Re: 21-22 lineup
100% agree. He will be given the opportunity to earn a starting spot. Anyone who thinks Braun's spot is safe is crazy. He may earn it but it won't be just because he started last year. Braun's rebounding from the guard spot is above average but the rest of his game is vulnerable.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Right. It's not like he's some scrub that transferred in. No one should be expecting him to be a star by any means, but he has proven at his previous stops he's a more than capable player.

It was in the context of playing only mop up minutes.twocoach wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:06 amGetting coached by a Hall of Famer at a top tier school is hardly "non basketball reasons".BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:01 amNon basketball reasons. I am aware of Self's credentials.

there’s more to “development“ than playing time
Re: 21-22 lineup
Chad Ford is reporting that Remy is staying in the draft, but I've seen nothing official from Remy or anyone else. I'm just going to assume/hope that Chad is an idiot and bad at maintaining a good website.

Re: 21-22 lineup
But he's almost 30. Non basketball reasons make more sense than basketball reasons (if he's not going to play much, which maybe he will and then this is all moot). KC is a big(ish) market. Maybe he's actually staying in school for educational reasons? That'd be a cool switch.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:12 amgeography is the only non-basketball reasonBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:01 amNon basketball reasons. Re: 21-22 lineup
Probably works out for us fine in the long run since he was a 1 year guy. More Yesefu.
Re: 21-22 lineup
Jalen Coleman Lands has played a total of 3,733 minutes of college hoops. That's more than Marcus Garrett played in his 4 years at Kansas and more than any other player on next year's team. For comparison:TraditionKU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:59 ambecause it’s KU, Self and Lawrence?

Remy Martin: 3,623
Ochai Agbaji: 2,611
Christian Braun: 1,503
David McCormack: 1,457
Mitch Lightfoot: 1,351
Joseph Yesufu: 857
Jalen Wilson: 824
Dajuan Harris: 481
He has gotten a chance to experience playing time. Now he seems to want to experience great coaching and big time winning.
