21-22 lineup

Re: 21-22 lineup
I'm having a hard time seeing minutes for JCL.
But...he was the 38th ranked recruit in his HS class...ranked ahead of guys like LaGerald Vick and KJ Lawson, but ranked behind Diallo, Malik Newman, and Dedric Lawson.

Has he officially transferred to us too?
Re: 21-22 lineup
We are on his list of 4 finalists that he released a few days ago, almost certainly as a back up in case Martin stays in the draft. He is one of the Top 5 transfers on the season but most expected him to stay in the draft. Now he has withdrawn from the draft and has Kentucky (highly unlikely as they already have about 10 PGs), Kansas, Louisville and Texas as his possible transfer destinations.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:18 amGood lord it's hard to keep up...twocoach wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:16 amOr Marcus Carr from MinnesotaBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:15 am

Re: 21-22 lineup
Yeah, it may bo no coincidence that we showed up on Carr’s list around the same time we hear Martin may stay in the draft
Re: 21-22 lineup
I'm not convinced Carr isn't the better option over Remy, since he's more of a true PG.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Can someone type in our current roster next year that includes our draft withdrawals and doesn't include Remy...?
Re: 21-22 lineup
Yeah.
Without knowing that much about either game, I had the “true pg” thought as well.
Martin iirc is more a score first lead guard, than a facilitator. Same with Yes, yes?
So a floor general type could be nice, especially if we can upgrade from Dajuan and find one who can score too

Re: 21-22 lineup
When Martin's team needed him to be a facilitator his sophomore season, he was 2nd in the PAC 12 in assists per game and when his team needed him to be a scorer his senior season, he was 1st in the PAC 12 in points per game. He can do whatever the coaches need him to do. Carr seems to be the same way, averaging 6.5 assists per game 2 years ago and 19 points per game last season.ousdahl wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:27 amYeah.

I guess I could have taken out the names of the walk-ons, haha. Teahan, McCarthy, White, and Jankovich aren't exactly in the conversation for minutes.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 11:36 amHoly shit. Re: 21-22 lineup
How is Braun better than JCL?
Yesufu would be my preferred starting 2 - that offense would be devastating.
After that I think it'd be JCL because he's a better shooter than Braun.

Re: 21-22 lineup
Braun just has such an advantage by having spent multiple seasons playing in Self's system (offensively and defensively) and also has mutliple seasons playing alongside Wilson Och and DMac....that experience is what gives him a massive advantage over newcomers. Especially as the 4th or 5th best player in the rotation.
Re: 21-22 lineup
Let's keep in mind that JCL was the third option for a depaul squad that was led in scoring by Charlie Moore. And his best season was on a 2-22 (0-18) ISU team.
