this vaccine hasn't been approved by whoever approves vaccines. so i can understand if someone is leery. i can understand if someone has questions.

I agree that might hold a few people back but I doubt that being an emergency approval vs. a full approval is the hurdle for more than a few percent of the unvaccinated.

I doubt it is so split by party lines. I have never gotten a flu vaccine in my life but I got the covid vaccine.

Trump was politicizing covid from the start, treating it like it was not a health pandemic but a scorned mistress that just needed to be hushed.

Then he politicized by casting doubt on the severity of the virus, the legitimacy of the experts, generally acting like it was just some plot to make him look bad, etc.

And then he politicized mask wearing.

And perhaps he didn’t position himself as explicitly anti-vax. But considering the aforesaid positions, combined with him doing little to publicly advocate for the vax while he received it himself…

He just generally set the stage for the divisiveness of it all, inviting misinformation over facts, etc.

I'd say the biggest risk is exponentially themselves ( who dont get vaccinated ) and the risk to those vaccinated is very slim now.

There is a point where those vaccinated should accept those who dont. Not approve or agree but accept.

There is a point where those vaccinated should accept those who dont. Not approve or agree but accept.

All I heard was "vaccinated people with kids under the age of 12 should just accept the fact that some people suck and to continue to keep their kids masked and away from gatherings indoors for the foreseeable future because the stupid people will never stop being stupid".

No, it isn't. It's reporting on the differences between states and what likely drives it.

All those damn Republicans not getting vaccinated.

That's politicizing covid/the vaccine and will result in no positive change in vaccine hesitancy or covid outlook in general.


Especially when other segements of the population who are also not "vaccinated enough" are overlooked or are not being vilified nearly as much (right or wrong).
