good science is opinion-free...but i’m sure that’s beyond your level of understandingrandylahey wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 10:56 am And trying to guilt or shame people into doing what you feel is right is what is really selfish. It's just your opinion

good job, mich
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
is that the goal line now. i have to wear my mask until no more contraction and transmission!
that's gonna be a long time. one of the knowitalls says this is gonna be with us for the rest of our life. sigh.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Well "they" did lose a lot of good will by constantly changing what the end goal is/was...
First it was 2 weeks to slow the spread so we didn't overwhelm hospitals. Which we did....but it wasn't 2 weeks.
Then wait for the vaccine. Which we did.
Then wait for people to have a chance to get the vaccine. Which we did.
If the end goal all along was we are going to do this until transmission is near zero, then they should have just said that.
So, i do understand why some are frustrated with that aspect of things. I am not frustrated with those things personally, but i understand.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Do the people refusing to wear masks again do this with everything. Like on the first warm Spring day, do you just throw all your winter clothes, coats, hats and gloves away, and then celebrate saying, "Never again, I'll never be cold ever again!!"
I only came to kick some ass...

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
If you think they're frustrated imagine how the scientists and health care workers feel about people refusing to take the safe vaccine they developed that would have likely prevented your last point from ever happening.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 11:41 am Well "they" did lose a lot of good will by constantly changing what the end goal is/was...

You don't remember the "shorts in winter" kids back in the day in grade school?
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
the UNITED STATES will donate 500 million doses of the vaccine.
the other g7 countries will donate another 500 million doses of the vaccine.
totaling 1 billion doses donated by the g7 countries.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
could they all be doing more? (yes)
when is this happening, and why hasn’t it happened yet?
why is the UNITED STATES allowing doses to expire when there are literally billions of people on this planet that are in need?
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
and if you care about anything other than your tired hot takes, how do think those vaccines are going to get where they need to?
ever been to rural africa or asia?

...The acting director for the St. Louis County Department of Public Health was just doing his job: offering guidance during a county council meeting in which officials sought to rescind a new mask mandate.
His expert opinion, according to local media, was that rescinding was a bad idea.
“If the council, in its infinite wisdom, negates this public health order, there will be more misery,” Dr. Faisal Khan told officials Tuesday, noting the steady rise of the Delta variant, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “There will be more infection. There will be more death.”
But, for the simple offense of providing this warning, Khan said he was confronted by a seemingly anti-mask, pro-MAGA crowd that assaulted, mocked, and berated him both inside and outside the council chambers. He was even called a “fat brown cunt” and “brown bastard,” according to a letter Khan wrote to Council Chair Rita Heard Days on Wednesday...

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
fucking know-it-all had it coming.
What the fuck is with these experts thinking their informed and researched decision matter?
If randy has a gut feeling that the virus isn't dangerous, I'm going with it, data be damned.

Even with breakthrough cases on the rise, we gotta remember how much better it is to be vaccinated.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Everyone on this thread does realize the vaccine isn't even FDA approved tho right? I'm just curious how people justify wanting everyone to take a drug that isn't approved yet
