And if people think voter ID laws is just to suppress minorities (which is fucked up to assume minorities can't afford an ID), then why don't we just write off getting a free ID on the taxpayers. This country has a budget in the trillions it would barely be noticed. And we don't seem to care about debt anyways

I am all for voter verification. We verify identity for TONS of other less important tasks.

I quickly show an ID to buy white clawz for beaverfever and i to drink. They scan my ID at the weed store. It's no problem. If they want to scan an ID to vote then have at it. It is very easy to get an ID/DL.

I get the sentiment. And I don’t understand how more folks don’t have ID.

You might be able to sneak a fake ID at the Quik Trip to score a pack of smokes. But to get a credit card? Or for that matter, to vote?

You need a fake ID, fake legit address, fake social security number, fake entire identity that otherwise looks real in gummint records. It’s incredibly difficult.

And in the context of voting, fraudulently doing so is incredibly rare. You can’t just waltz up to the ballot box and cast a bunch of bullshit votes using McLovin as your alias.

The real issue isn't identification, it is the GOP legislatures taking over for local election boards and declaring victory. That has always been the key issue. For anyone thinking this would not happen, see 2020, Arizona and every other close state.

Wow, it’s news to me that all these bills requiring ID also added several days of early voting with extended hours and convenient locations to drop off ballots, especially in neighborhoods with large non-white population. I’m also very grateful that Republican legislatures streamlined the process for obtaining and returning ballots by mail, if one desired! Thanks randy for the helpful information.

Sorry, but how is 0.14% possible?

630,000 people have died in the US. For the fatality rate to be 0.14% you would need 450 million infections. That's like 100 million more infections than there are people.
