So the B1G, PAC, & ACC are in talks to form some sort of scheduling alliance (and maybe more) with no plans to include the Big XII.

ugh...

Olson reported that “None of the three have expressed serious interest in raiding what’s left of the Big 12, so working together is a logical next step and appears to be the likely outcome.”

I shall bravely choose to continue to root for the Jayhawks, regardless of conference affiliation.

Yikes.

Oh well. Our basketball will still be fine. Our football might win some games against easier competition. Win win.

How could realignment suck more and fail? Have the other conferences act like they have something elite, when in fact they are simply also rans acting like fools if they do that. They keep doing things to diminish the fan base and viewership. Most of the country will not give a shit. Like NASCAR.

We need the big 10 a lot more than they need us. The SEC is going to be the elite football conference and there is really nothing the other conferences can do about it....but it's not as if texas and ou going to the SEC hurts those schools money. It really only hurts the other big 12 teams money because we lost 2 of our cash cows.

I don't know that KU, or any other Big XII school, can wait around and see how this all plays out; impatience is a virtue in this scenario.

KU better be looking for the funds to pay the exit fee now so they don't potentially have to scramble for it later on...if they actually ever get an invite to the B1G, PAC, or the ACC they need to be able to jump on it immediately.

Just noticed the TDub fecal fling above.
Something is wrong when aggression is your default post. Football is indeed injurious to bodies and minds and many parents are turning to soccer or basketball for their kids. The south still reveres football and that is why it is the primary recruiting ground for football. Ignoring medical realities is what has made the Delta variant of COVID so destructive in exactly the same areas.

don’t think it was posted, but just saw a tweet that Amazon just hired former NFL Network exec. producer to lead their Live Sports at Prime division

it’ll be interesting to see how and where Amazon wades into the CFB/realignment landscape

Hard to disagree, at this point.

Maybe we could jump and be what Notre Dame is for NBC with Amazon for hoops?

i doubt Amazon is looking to work with individual schools on their own

what i’ve seen floated around is the idea of multi-school co-ops...basically trending towards anyone not in the power conferences operating in a semi-independent way for fb and b-ball

kind of a catch-all operation for schools not covered under the primary conference agreements with fox/espn/nbc/cbs
