We’d put bullshit names and info on a credit card signup to get the free coupon then go gorge on like 26 slices of pizza. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
Nothing like committing credit card fraud for a pizza. I don't remember any other pizza joints on 23rd other than Gumby's, Wheat State and Pizza Shuttle. Wasn't Godfathers a buffet place? Was there one in Lawrence?
That Wescoe credit card stuff was insidious. My credit was wrecked for years because I'd opened and closed so many cards.

I did not have what the junior high schools now teach as "financial literacy."

I need to get back to Lawrence. I don't think I've been back since watching KU beat OSU in FF in 2012.

I like Indian buffets. Sadly, they may never come back in KC.
I don't think I had that one. Just looked it up, and it seems like it closed.

I just remember King had like $8 days for students or something. Ate enough at like 5 pm to keep my full for 24 hours.

I don't think I ever had Indian buffet. Sounds like a great idea if I wasn't so health conscious now. I don't even know the last time I had a buffet that wasn't a catered event. Has to be since KU. I wonder if they were like a 90s thing. Seems like you don't see that option as often any more.
They're all over the burbs. Often Asian food.

Casinos, too. Golden Corral, of course.

Same. I barely finish any meal I get at a restaurant nowadays even. A buffet just seems like a bad financial prospect, and the only positive is I can sample like 5 different things instead of going all in on one meal.

Cici's. Garbage.

Pizza Street was out west one 6th. A little better.

Oh shit, I did have Cici's. I got free or cheap coupons from them a few times, and I think I just never came back. I remember they used to advertise all the damn time too.

I'm a once-a-year sucker for Brazilian steakhouses, which are essentially buffets.

The key of course is to maintain your focus. You mustn't get distracted by the (very very good!) salad bar, or indeed half of the meat offerings. Must conserve your precious stomach capacity for only the elite meats.

Sushi train is a better concept. Better all around, too.

And also go for lunch. Same shit, lower price.

We joke with our daughters (early 20s) that when they were little we used to order 3 mains, one each for me and my wife and one for them to share. Now we still order 3 mains except my wife and I share one and they get one each!

In fact when my wife go out to eat (haven’t in a long time) we order one starter and main and one bottle of wine 😄😄

The saying that pizza is like sex, even bad pizza is pretty good.

Well, in that scenario, Cici's is like vicious rape. Only pizza I have ever absolutely hated.

Is that why my body shut that whole thing down when I tried to eat it?

I have never had bad pizza. Except at 2020 W 23rd St, Lawrence Fucking Kansas.

I think it was Cole Aldrich who went to Cici's every day. And we wonder why we lost to North Iowa.

Do strip clubs still have buffets? Or was that always just a joke from shitty 90s sitcoms?
