If you guys have the bleacher report app i highly recommend the "chips" interview with KD (Draymond is the interviewer). 23min long. Really cool interview imo.

Someone needs to tell Russ West that his team of "nice experienced vets" isn't going to "kick these young motherf**ing a*es" if his team's "nice experienced vets" aren't playing.
I could be wrong but my guess is the 2021/2022 Lakers collective roster probably leads the league in missed games last season.

Writing was on the wall that they preferred him over Devonte last year (which at times i understood and other times i didn't). Glad Devonte got to a good spot...but didn't expect the extension for Rozier. Although that's not much more than Marcus Smart got and Rozier is better than Smart imo.

Yes, but the marginal value of Smart is much higher to the Celtics than Rozier's to the Hornets; the Celtics can see their way to the conference finals, and from there it's luck (including injury luck). They need Smart to have a puncher's chance at getting through.

The Hornets...are going to be mediocre at best with Rozier. So who cares if they'd be worse without him?

Well, Charlotte is one of the worst organizations at things like this.

But i will give them some benefit of doubt that they're hoping for playoffs. Melo Rozier Hayward Bridges Washington Oubre Plumlee. Plus youngins in Kai Jones and James Bouknight....they might actually be decent if Hayward stays healthy. LeMelo is going to be really good as he develops over the next few years.

Charlotte gonna Charlotte.

I'd like to think D'Tae got out of a bad situation, but I don't see NOP being able to retain Zion.

The new supermax thing seems to be enticing some guys. If Milwaukee can keep Giannis then anything is possible imo.

It does help, and I wouldn't rule a resigning out. But the other thing going against them is they have no idea where they will be located by the end of Zion's extension. I am sure he would like Vegas, but KC would be a harder sell.

Besides Durant, who was on a team with Harden as well, how'd their teams do?

Harden didn't even start on that team did he?

Their teams didn't win championships. But i think the point of the meme was that those players had their best (or some of their best) seasons statistically with Russ by their side. Only 1 team wins a championship each year. It'd be like implying CP3 has never had a great season because he has never won a title.

"Their teams didn't win championships"

True. But also big understatement. Wizards didn't make the playoffs. OKC floundered in the playoffs with Westbrook and PG13.

Additionally, Beal had his best season the year before Westbrook showed up.
And Durant was with OKC for 2/3rds of his career, so that significance is lessened. So, yes, PG13 has his best season with Westbrook. Then Russ and him had beef and he wanted out.

Finally how about Harden?
And next season, will it be LeBrons best season statistically?

Sorry, I'm not following. I'm pretty sure Harden wasn't on Durant's team when he won the MVP playing with Russ. If not, what does Harden have to do with anything?
You said, "Additionally, Beal had his best season the year before Westbrook showed up".
Is that factual - or opinion based? I'm not saying he did or didn't but why do you think Beal had a better season in 2019/2020 than 2020/2021?
What I do know is that Westbrook was NOT the sole reason why his teams didn't win championships and often he was the best player on the floor for his team/s.
Clearly the Lakers were happy to get him and they wouldn't have gotten him if LeKing and LeBrow didn't want to play with Russ. I know some people will disagree but I feel the Lakers are a better team with Russ than they are without him.
Even at 32 (will turn 33 during the season) he's a hell of a basketball player. Probably one of the 50 best I've ever seen play.

“but why do you think Beal had a better season in 2019/2020 than 2020/2021?”

PER 23.2 v 22.7.
Don’t bother with tearing down PER—it’s a stat I heavily agree with at a certain minutes and games played mark.

Beal was All NBA for the first time last year. I'd say that is his best year, no?

Averaged more points and better Fg% than the year prior. More rebounds, but less assists (which makes sense since Russ is always among league leaders in assists).

Per is great, but it isn't the sole decider of good seasons. There is human element going into per formula. That is why per from espn doesn't always match per from other sources.

Also, i don't think the point was that Russ makes everyone have their best seasons every single year. It is just that he doesn't have some significant negative statistical impact on his teammates like some try to form the narrative.
