The Arkansas Medical Board is investigating after a doctor said he prescribed an anti-parasitic drug "thousands" of times for treatment of Covid-19, including to inmates in an Arkansas jail.
So much for pretty much every assumption that Illy made.

This is what happens when you don't really pay attention and only read headlines.
Nobody in that prison has died of covid19. And nobody he's prescribed the human version to has been been poisoned....still probably mostly pointless since he's giving them something for lice, but i hear there have also been no lice outbreaks recently. So there's that.

In other news: illinois put back in place indoor mask mandates. This morning my company sent out guidance saying to avoid potentially hostile situations inside the various branches that employees are not required to enforce the policy on customers who walk in. If comfortable the employee can remind them of the mandate and offer a disposable mask.
I just hope i go back to WFH soon so i can golf everyday and work at night (which i already do a lot of, but nice to not have to come into the office).

Same shit, different day.
When he first felt symptoms on July 26, his wife told the Standard-Times, he refused to get tested or seek medical care. He instead began treating himself with a cocktail of Vitamin C, zinc, aspirin and ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug that has been falsely promoted as an effective treatment for COVID-19 by conservative media. He was taken to the hospital on July 30.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
My point being that you were wrong that there have only been a small number of people taking ivermectin to treat covid despite it not being tested and recommended for that at all and that you were wrong that the majority of people who take ivermectin must result in hospitalizations.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:04 amYou seem unaware that there is an animal version and a human version.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 7:32 am https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/26/us/covid ... index.html

Brocoach: we were talking about the animal version....the version the people you are/were talking about were getting at Farm&Home and other similar stores. The version the poison control hotline was getting calls about.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:32 amMy point being that you were wrong that there have only been a small number of people taking ivermectin to treat covid despite it not being tested and recommended for that at all and that you were wrong that the majority of people who take ivermectin must result in hospitalizations.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:04 amYou seem unaware that there is an animal version and a human version.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 7:32 am https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/26/us/covid ... index.html

But nice try. CNN got you with the headline. Happens to the best of us.

if you have questions about the fungus you should talk with your primary care physician. i had my annual physical this morning. we had a very informative talk about the fungus. i would encourage everyone to have a talk with their primary care physician.
if you have one. most of you are probably to young to even have one.

There are little kids on ventilators at the hospital where Mrs 99 works. Terrible for the kids and their parents.
Defense. Rebounds.

My son has been going to Kindergarten for 13 days now. His school has 3 Covid+ cases amongst Kindergarteners (5 classes, approx. 90 kids), including 1 in his class. There is no mandatory quarantining...TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:34 am A child under the age of 4 is hospitalized and on a ventilator...

We are starting weekly testing for students. not mandatory to attend, but parents can opt in. Just mouth swabs. Not the q tip up into the brain kind. We will likely opt in. All teachers are required to get vaccinated or do testing weekly.sdoyel wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:38 amMy son has been going to Kindergarten for 13 days now. My daughter's elementary school has had a few positives, but no spread inside the school. Which is good.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I know a co-worker who is not getting vaccinated because he and his wife are trying to have another baby... I think it's ridiculous to be honest.

A med industry friend shared a pic of a test result on her newborn. Apparently the mom's vax gave her baby antibodies.
I have zero clue the typicality and what the science is on that.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
“CDC encourages all pregnant people or people who are thinking about becoming pregnant and those breastfeeding to get vaccinated to protect themselves from COVID-19,” said CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. “The vaccines are safe and effective, and it has never been more urgent to increase vaccinations as we face the highly transmissible Delta variant and see severe outcomes from COVID-19 among unvaccinated pregnant people.”
A new CDC analysisexternal icon of current data from the v-safe pregnancy registry assessed vaccination early in pregnancy and did not find an increased risk of miscarriage among nearly 2,500 pregnant women who received an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine before 20 weeks of pregnancy. Miscarriage typically occurs in about 11-16% of pregnancies, and this study found miscarriage rates after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine were around 13%, similar to the expected rate of miscarriage in the general population.
