Re: Kansas Football 2021 Season
The thing I like about them the most, well two things...
The big block and prominate KANSAS on the front. We don't embrace Kansas enough. We focus more on the Jayhawk and not Kansas. The KANSAS on the front with the big block letters is an incredibly classic look that puts the focus on the front of the jersey.
The Warhawk on the sleeves are an incredible touch.
By the way, Self had a video posted recently and it was this color lighter color blue polo with the Warhawk on it, would definitely buy that polo. I wonder if KU is going to embrace the lighter blue color a bit with the new Athletic Department.

I like the block font, too. The newer adidas stuff doesn’t have the Trajan, and I have to say I don’t miss it at all.

Really appreciated the department getting away from that, it seems. Don't think Leipold has worn a shirt yet with any Trajan on it. It's the block lettering that is just a classic yet somewhat bold look.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 8:08 am I like the block font, too. I'm into the block font.
I've always preferred me some circus over the trajan - though the KU logo itself ( not the words Kansas ) has grown on me.
There's just too much going on with that jersey ( too much stuff on it ) - clean it up - and ditch the powder blue.

Can't remember if we've discussed this on this thread yet and I don't feel like going back through it, haha.
Anyone else heard rumors about an announcement tomorrow regarding a major fundraising project?

I forgot we got demoted to HS level and play on Friday, thanks for the reminder.
I only came to kick some ass...

Geezus, the only reason to move a game to a Friday night is for TV purposes.
What HS games are we up against on ESPN+?

Mellinger wrote today that Les Miles led a "general dysfunction" while here.
Never heard much at all, if anything, on that until now. Maybe there is some reason to hope for a noticeably improved product.

That guy Bryson Stricker is a bit of a d-bag but he's usually spot on.
He is saying Bean is QB1 and will release more details on his pod that will come out soon. Leipold also had HawkTalk last night and seemed to discuss Bean waaaaay more than Kendrick or Daniels.
Bean is the guy, should be the guy and will be the guy. I think you have to take the guy with the most upside.

Re: Kansas Football 2021 Season
Seems like the coaching staff played it slow with Bean, knowing he was the best athlete and his running ability fits in well with what they want to do on offense this year, but wanted to give him a chance to learn the offense and master the playbook. If he has stepped up and did just that to win the job over the last two weeks, then that is great news.
I've heard some buzz that the new coaches really do like Jalon Daniels but he absolutely needs a year where he doesn't see the field just to learn and grow. There are a lot of QBs on the roster and all have some serious potential like Easters and Hawley. It will be interesting to see how the coaches handle that.
On a related note, I keep seeing people say that the offensive line is vastly improved. That would go a long way to keeping us competitive this year.

Jalon getting hurt may be a blessing in disguise for him.

Truth. He could benefit from a true redshirt season. Reset his mind and learn from Zebrowski. Kid can't be in a good place mentally on the football field after the all out assault he endured last season.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:54 am Jalon getting hurt may be a blessing in disguise for him.

I think you're absolutely right. And I kept saying over and over, I think the staff wants Bean to get it, and once Daniels got a bit banged up, Bean got more reps and just took over.UnholyLivingDead wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:51 am Seems like the coaching staff played it slow with Bean, knowing he was the best athlete and his running ability fits in well with what they want to do on offense this year, but wanted to give him a chance to learn the offense and master the playbook. However your comments regarding QBs, I've heard the staff loves Hawley's leadership. They are working on a hitch he has in his throwing motion. He'll sit for a couple of years before being a major factor in any QB competition. Easters on the other hand is apparently just plain awful. Have heard some say/write that it won't be a surprise if he transfers at season's end to a lower FBS team or even a top end FCS team. He's slow, he can't make a lot of the throws the staff is asking and he is a quiet guy. That's a recipe for disaster for a freshman QB.

Re: Kansas Football 2021 Season
Yikes, I hadn't heard that so disregard my above comments. I know this staff is going hard after Avery Johnson, a class of 2023 QB out of Maize, and he has an impressive list of schools that are after him. Maybe that's why. If Bean has the job for a couple years, then this staff is high on Daniels, we have a little bit of time to keep finding the next QBs down the road, but I don't want to think too far ahead about that.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:02 am However your comments regarding QBs, I've heard the staff loves Hawley's leadership.
