Agreed about the recruited over point, but when it comes to the length of his shot, if he's left so wide open for a reason, why not take your time and make sure everything is set? Is he supposed to have a Ray Allen-esque type of quick release when no one is within 20 feet just to change the narrative of not being a good shooter?CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 10:32 amI've seen players take less time at the FT line than Harris does before shooting a 3.NDballer13 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 9:53 amI'm holding out a bit of hope that people are saying Harris can't shoot simply because he won't shoot. His shot was far from the ugliest and it's not like his misses were airballs or hitting the side of the backboard. He's just a distributing PG first. He holds his HS assist record, so this wasn't a surprise.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 9:31 am It means he was wide open, as he has been his whole career. Harris is not a good 3pt shooter but likely had the best % on the team.
MG's FT% was encouraging, though.
He certainly has more hope than Garrett did at the same point of their careers, but it doesn't look good enough to wait around on and he should continue to get recruited over.
I'm not saying he's the best and Self should be drawing up plays for him to take 3s, but there are a lot worse options shooting the ball than a wide open Harris.
