Happy GameDay. Chances of rain have dropped some. But will be wet leading up to the game.

Hawks win 31-16

To be fair, we are pretty consistent regardless of weather; we tend to get blowed out, rain or shine.

Doesn't feel like that to me, although I do expect us to have a weird score.

I'll go 23-13.

It'll be like 17-10 at half. USD gets 2 FGs and KU gets 2 TDs in 2nd half.

I will say though that I think both teams score on first possession. That's my weird prediction of the game.

Not going to change it, KU 17 SD 10.

Wipe out that rain forecast, please.

I've hung around my 30-14 ish scoring range. I just think some are underestimating that KUs roster is actually pretty good.

I expect to take the air out of the ball. Defense will be further ahead of the offense.

Getting into the 30's with a very ground heavy game means our line is way ahead of where I would expect them to be--I'll gladly take if true.

It would be very good to see that, for the first time in a very very very long time, we're actually just physically superior to the directional Dakotas of the world.

Last matchup against South Dakota was a 31-14 win in 2013. Was 24-7 going into 4th quarter. KU had 110 yards passing and 280 yards on the ground.

I see a lot of the same similarities.

Looking at a depleted Buffalo team running roughshod over a small school makes me think a 42-3 win for Leipold's Lamborghinis. Kansas' defense is pretty good. Winning and not sucking is our shared goal for game one though.

I agree that the Buffalo score last night is encouraging even if against a bad FCS school. Buffalo's new coach also doesn't have any HC experience, so as we were aware, Leipold had that program in good shape.

Yes. And lost a RB to the NFL as well. He left that place in really good standing. He's known as a developer. Will be fun to see year 3, 5 and so on. But let's get through tonight first ;)

You've been jigged. We all got excited about all four of them, and it all ended in heartbreak, and seems to have gotten worse each time.

Nah, I think we're in the best shape we've been in since early Gill days.

It really just got to a point where you had to go with the boring old guy hire.

Les will get credit in hindsight if the media and staff are correct in that the roster is in pretty good shape.

And I don’t think it’s close, either.
