Whoa, that was one often quickest download speeds, even by my own standard.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
You would not be so cavalier on this if you'd grown up in Catholic school and heard the messaging to pubescent boys on what they are and aren't allowed to do on their own time.ousdahl wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:06 am The law says 6 weeks, but the Catholic Church says that’s still not enough.
“Life begins at erection” is a satirical play on words of their actual mantra, “life begins at conception.”
And any fetal tissue anything, if I recall, is a hard no from the church.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to enter private browsing mode to, uh, transfer some data.
Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
Dude, I legit thought all babies came directly from God, and any woman who got pregnant out of wedlock was cuz she wasn’t faithful enough so God was spiting her with a baby.
Then I switched to public school, and thank the lord for that 7th grade health class.
Excuse me - thank THE LORD. You know how we Catholics like our caps lock.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
babies only come from sperm...women are only vessels
Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
i believe you can also have a valve inserted into the ductus deferens
Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
Reminds me of that old health class joke:
What’s the difference between a male and a female?
There’s a vas deferens.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
That was a public school health class joke btw.
The equivalent Catholic joke would be something like, actually she’s just his rib.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
I think the false equivalence, that you're making right now, and that the majority on the right seem to make repeatedly, is that laws and crimes don't necessarily dictate our ethics. Something being of bad moral value, doesn't in and of itself, justify having a law preventing it. Which is to say, I don't think a church's stance on abortion should be used to make laws.ousdahl wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:06 am The law says 6 weeks, but the Catholic Church says that’s still not enough.

For example, it's a sin to cheat on your spouse, but no one gets thrown in prison for it.
It's a sin to over indulge on food, but no one gets fined for eating at a buffet.
It's a sin to tell a lie, but states can't arrest you for saying you liked the pie your wife made even though it wasn't any good.
I think in most situations of an abortion, some immoral act was likely committed, either the termination of a pregnancy itself, or how it was conceived (which could be on the male, obviously)...but that doesn't mean it should be illegal.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
bro there’s a pill for that now.
But for real, curious about your post.
I’d like to understand if I did make some false equivalence. Your points seem to venture a lot further than anything I thought I said.
I don't think a church's stance on abortion should be used to make laws either, but do you think the church thinks that?
It seems they view abortion less as some nuanced and complex public policy issue, and more as some black and white moral mandate. That view seems to influence the public policy, at the very least.
But maybe I’m wrong. And it feels weird to say, but I’m not afraid to be wrong? Im honestly not trying to be “right,” either, so much as just trying to gain insight from dialogue either way.

Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
We know youre not afriad to be wrong...that much is abundantly clear.
Just Ledoux it
Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
you say that like it’s a bad thing.
Re: Where's the Pro-Life thread?
I certainly dont run around trying to be wrong.
But then again, when most sentences start with "have we talked about x" its pretty low risk. But, somehow, you pull it off.

I followed a bunch of far left gram pages like puppers.against.capitalism, and openly documented it in the radicalization thread, and certain posters have been loosing their minds ever since.dub needs a codpiece wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 5:31 pm When did Qusdahl turn heel around here?
