my company is working on two new treatments, one for covid and one for ricin poisoning, and Australia wouldn’t grant permits so the operation had to move to TasmaniaTDub wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 9:30 am https://www.news.com.au/national/nsw-ac ... e38872d3d5
what the fuck is happening in Australia?
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Tasmania is part of Australia. It’s its own state, like NSW or QLD.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground

We're getting pissed off over what Australia's government is doing?
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Australia has had 68,041 Covid cases and 1,066 deaths. Ever. USA had 157,759 cases, and 1,700 deaths. Yesterday. I’m pissed that they have a system that’s working.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:59 am We're getting pissed off over what Australia's government is doing?

its a warning for us. if your not concerned about a western government implementing and enforcing these types of restrictions and authoritarian controls then I'm worried for our future.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:59 am We're getting pissed off over what Australia's government is doing?

Fine. Times it by 12. They would have 816,000 cases and 12,264 deaths compared to our 41.5 million cases and 671,000 deaths. That’s still a 50x difference per 100k.TDub wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:11 amthey have 25 million people we have 300+dub needs a codpiece wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:04 amAustralia has had 68,041 Covid cases and 1,066 deaths. I do think each and every country's response is an opportunity to learn and find the best solutions and fit for each country.TDub wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:10 amits a warning for us. if your not concerned about a western government implementing and enforcing these types of restrictions and authoritarian controls then I'm worried for our future.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:59 am We're getting pissed off over what Australia's government is doing?
Getting mad about a hypothetical scenario though, even without considering the differences in law, I don't know, just not for me.
While I am on record here saying I support wide vaccine mandates, my main point has always been that they are legal under US law and also precedented. Therefore, the freedom argument to that particular measure needs to die.
