Chargers - Herbert is the real deal but they also struggled with WFT.
I think the Redskins have a top 5 defense in the league.
On the road, Herbert did a good job getting a win ( though they were fortunate Fitzmagic got hurt ).

I am as hooked on the NFL right now as anyone, and 2. the new NFL TV deal is absolutely massive and we aren't far off from some players making $50m a year, but I wonder if the NFL down the road is not doing itself any favors by adding an extra game, and eventually another one.

At least from the fan enjoyment perspective, because it sure seems even more silly this year to overreact to games played in September or even October.
I was thinking about this, making a required week (or two when we go to 18 in a couple of years) mandatory week off, and two bye weeks. (with this drop to 1 maybe 2 preseason games). So Patrick can only play 16 out of the 18 games. Can correspond with injuries as well. Would add so much more strategy to the game. Wouldn't really affect too much because everyone would rest their best players for like Detroit/Jets/Jayhawks. Maintains the 16 game records and stretches out the season so the NFL makes even more money.

But since that would never happen, I don't think it really affects anything. Preseason (IMO) will likely drop down to two games, regular season will get to 18, and I think that second bye week will get added. I *think* the game is getting safer with the harsher penalties for roughing already, and the NFL should continue down that road. I think they should extrapolate it out so a player who gets ejected gets ejected for the next game to, and forfeits their paycheck. In Soccer a red card DQs you for the next game, and the college game is doing something similar now. You mess with a player's check, they will start to pull up and take less cheap shots.

I also call them the KC Wizards and the Cleveland Indians.
You can take a deep breath, it'll be OK.

Karma. There were some typical Raider high/low hits.

I just rewatched the Chiefs-Browns game last night and was surprised at the number of borderline dirty plays by the Browns defense. They pushed it right up to the line and over several times. Seemed to be a conscious decision group wide.

Ravens also may be down their best receiver in Hollywood Brown and a contributing ( not starting ) cornerback.

I didn't check, but surely the Ravens odds on winning anything that matters plummeted in the couple of weeks prior to the season starting.

I thought I saw, at least before all of these latest updates that the Chiefs were only favored by 3. The Chiefs, as of late have an awful record against the spread but even before the injury bug continued to ravage the Ravens that was a tempting line.

They were --especially stepping all over CEH. That was the reason for the scrum. They did the same in the playoffs. Getting physical to intimidate. Not working great. Usually leads to injuries on your side.

I remember the good old days when i would slog home from the factory on a Thursday evening and turn on the TV to sit and watch an nfl football game on my comfy couch.

But it's not on basic TV anymore. You have to pay extra money to watch a Thursday night nfl game now.

That's almost as sad as paying $1.59 for a McDonald's hamburger now when they were $0.89 three years ago.

I know one play does not make an entire game but getting called for an offside/s penalty on a game deciding play that now makes your record 0-2 - is a hard pill to swallow if you're a Giants fan.
