Well you know what I mean.

Either way this is two weeks in a row that our o and d line have gotten absolutely worked.

O line continues its decade long terribleness. Have to recruit there.

I thought D line was actually good against SD, maybe I missed something, though.

I think CC has a grown up offense. They’re going to light a bunch of teams up.

Me neither. Also like the 2 mid-afternoon kickoffs the next couple of weeks.

CCU exists for five-year senior football runs. That team probably has some NFL talent weirdly playing at a small diploma mill. Their offense is about the best we'll see. The defense learned hard lessons but that was a prison-tough ass beating they got from an offense that has worked together for years on timing and gadgets.

Their coach will leave this year, feigning tears, and head to the SEC where his 'awe shucks' brutality will be embraced. And that will be the end of them unless we stupidly schedule them again. Maybe it was the mullets. But I dislike them as an institution of higher learning and a desert topping.

There was no excuse for any legitimate program to schedule them. We basically validated them AND watered down the talent pool further by pushing another school up from the bottom again. As the talent pool drains, no wonder the SEC is trying to wall itself off to have the best of depleted pickings in a semi-pro NFL league. The SEC has the best players of a much smaller talent pool right now, but unless they suppress competition they could have the next decade of pain if kids decided not to waste their lives in the deep south. It is embarrassing how one-dimensional college football recruiting and success has become. But the reasons are brain injuries, soccer and crippling orthopedic injuries. The next generation doesn't strike me as football-intense.

We're headed down to Lawrence this weekend for Parent's Weekend. My wife will be driving down separately as she is coming straight from a work event in St. Joe., MO and she will not be rolling into town until after the football game starts. I will be in town by 10am for other weekend events so parking wont be an issue for me.

Any recommendations on where she should park? Do the cash lots near AFH and over on Illinois Street fill up on Game Day? I know we won't be at anything resembling a full house so I can't imagine there is a massive shortage of parking but if there are any experienced KU football fans here, I'd love a recommendation. Thanks!

I'm also going to make the game for the first time since COVID. The area will be packed, despite an expected ~30k attendance.

She could try the Illinois street lot or even lot 90 but certainly wouldn't say she will 100% get a spot given the afternoon kickoff. If she does this, whether she takes Exit 204 or 202, tell her to go to Iowa Street and no further south than 9th (probably even 6th) and approach the lots from the west side of Daisy Hill. Driving through campus and student ghetto will be a shit show.

Other option is to park wherever you may be after the game and Uber/Lyft into campus.

i’d park in the “historic” residential district between 6th and 9th, and like Louisiana and Maine

the B1G knows what they’re getting
I legitimately think that KU football being this bad would be a positive for another conference when compared to a mediocre to average football program:
  • With KU, they're essentially getting a guaranteed power conference win.
  • It's like being able to schedule an extra cupcake like in years past, but you can count it as in conference.
  • We're not going to get a fluke win against your conference champion at the end of the season to knock them out of the NCAA championship game, but 6-6 team definitely could.
Only benefits to adding KU in football, no risks. We may not make your conference better, but we would definitely make your current schools look better.

Kansas FB is basically Northwestern in a harder conference. Hoping to climb over Indiana.

Northwestern won their division of the conference in 2018 and 2020 didn't they? With 13 bowl appearances since 2000. Fwiw. They have actually turned themselves into a decent football program the last 2+ decades.

Yeah. But the world continued to turn. If they had been in the Big 12, not so much.

Are we/you saying the Big12 is the better football conference than the Big10?

The past 10+ seasons as a whole, Northwestern Football > Kansas Football. By a lot.
Almost as much as Kansas Basketball > Northwestern Basketball.

The Big 12 is a harder league without divisional games. Kansas may have recovered elsewhere, but every other Big 12 team except Tech a couple of times was as good or better than NW.

Need Lucky 99 to start the game thread. Keep contain and seal the edges on Baylor and we have a chance.
