Hey, should you be diagnosing without interviewing the subject?JKLivin wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 8:30 pmMy guess is that you are a neurotic Aspergerian mess whose attitudes and behaviors in the office create more work for those around you.NotGutterGutter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 7:32 pm"POTD" meaning piece of total dreck?
Sure that's sound advice for "normal" circumstances but Covid is far from being a normal circumstance.
Let me ask you this. Do you feel your daughter should stop complaining, go to work, do her job, and repeat cycle if the other doctors and nurses didn't abide by the "rules" and didn't give a shit that they put her and her family members life and well being in jeopardy because of it?
My guess and hope is your answer is no.
I admit I'm having a difficult time figuring out how and why people can't (or refuse to) comprehend MY situation and the circumstances that I spelled out pretty clearly.
Fine, maybe I'm an asshole but I would rather be an overly concerned asshole who cares about my family than a negligent asshole who doesn't.
Maybe that's just me. I sure hope it's not.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
why would I care if the doctor smokes? if I have COPD its probably from a lifetime of smoking.
the national guard is non smoking?
Just Ledoux it
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
A better analogy is something like would you go to a dentist who didn't believe in autoclaving his instruments.
Or more specific to Tdub as a contractor, would you hire someone to work for you who didn't think fasteners were necessary.
Getting rid of antivax healthcare workers is one step backwards to take 20 steps forward.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
BINGO!
But..... I know first hand that many people are told by their doctors (primary care and specialists) to go to the Emergency Room for non-emergencies.
Heck, it's a well known fact that within the Northwestern healthcare system unless you do go to the Emergency Room you won't be able to see a doctor for weeks when you truly do have an "ailment" that needs quick if not immediate attention.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Would be nice if they were competent and qualified to do all our jobs but in the mean time, I would be thrilled if they were counted on and used to do SOME things to help our country. As unsightly as it may be, I would be happy to have them have a stronger presence in Chicago right now.

It's the thing that everyone needs to come back to. Most of this endless argument and discussion is a waste of time.
The only reason there shouldn't be vaccine mandates is because we shouldn't need them.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
If true (I assume it is), don't we ("we" being from the President down to homeless people) need to wake the fuck up and be more than just "addressing" that crisis too.Overlander wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 9:34 pmHealth care workers are resigning by 10s of thousands weekly.NotGutterGutter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 9:11 pm Earlier this evening I walked through Feinberg Pavilion at Northwestern Hospital. The Emergency Room is in Feinberg and I’m not exaggerating when I say there were at least 40 people OUTSIDE of the Emergency Room who were in need of care and perhaps being “treated” but NOT directly monitored. Granted, many didn’t appear to be in dire need of medical attention but clearly they and/or someone else felt the need for them to go to and be in the Emergency Room. I couldn’t help but think how if I or someone I care about needed to be in the Emergency Room, we would be screwed in terms of receiving care.
How many if any were there for Covid? My guess and hope is none being that I know they used to isolate people in the ER who may have Covid.
We supposedly live in the best/greatest country in the world. Chicago is a major city and Northwestern is the primary “trauma center” for the heart of the city. I have said this before, the hospital is in NO WAY prepared for a mass crisis of ANY kind. So why are we (this city, state, country, continent, planet) not prepared and/or don't have the resources we would need should there be a mass crisis?
Northwestern Hospital has I believe close to 7500 employees of which 4000 or so are doctors and nurses. Right or wrong, I'm hardly the only one who feels the Emergency Room is NOT a priority in regards to dedicating their available "resources" but...... Often I myself have experienced it's more of a space issue in the ER than it is a personnel issue.

Despite my having to endure the wrath of the guy who at many times is a complete "neurotic" "mess" on here himself, I couldn't be more fortunate to have him "guess" about me in regards to my experience/s during the pandemic because heck, he diagnosed me to a tee. FREE of charge too!
The one nice thing about having him post on here is that we can count on him to at times be pretentious (often I find it entertaining and humorous - and/or pathetic) and also remind us that when people believe they are prestigious in society, they tend to be basically irrelevant. Or at least not nearly as prestigious as they think/pretend they are.
On a related note, I would think people such as Psych would prefer to interact with intellectuals on their own level then stoop down to the level found on here but hey - this place serves it's purpose for him/them and I will NOT publically "guess" what that purpose is - despite my believing I have a pretty good idea.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
i honestly don’t even think the analogies are necessary re: anti-vax nurses quitting or being fired
doctors and nurses take an oath to put the patient’s health and well-being before their own
they’re already required to get a boat-load of vaccines, including the yearly flu shot
where’s the outrage about healthcare workers being selfish, and willing to risk the health and well-being of their patients?

You know what, Gutter? When you're right, you're right. I have no idea why I waste time here and occasionally get drawn into the poo-flinging with the rest of the monkeys. That bears serious consideration on my part.NotGutterGutter wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:28 amI know! Keep doing what you do: deflecting, blaming, and throwing pity parties. It has obviously worked well for you and brought you a happy, fulfilling life. Far be it from me to tell you how to live. Best of luck to you in continuing to shirk your job duties and remain gainfully employed at the same time.

How do you know gutter is shirking his work duties? I've worked at home for the last year and a half and am actually working more than when I was in the office.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
NYC firing supposedly 70000 health care workers today in the middle of a supposed Healthcare crisis. Where is the fucking logic in that
Granted NYC is a shithole that people have been fleeing for 2 years now because of unrealistically ignorant policies like that

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
all nurses are supposed to be vaccinated for:
1) flu
2) tdap (tetanus and pertussis)
3) mmr (measles, mumps, rubella)
4) hep b
5) varicella
6) meningococcal (highly recommended)
it makes zero logical sense for there to be such ignorant, selfish outrage about another
