I mean, the 2019 game was a good one in Ames. Had a lead entering the 4th. Iowa State then outscored KU 20-7 in final quarter to win 41-31.

I agree Newton. But it seemed like they were offensively unstoppable at times even in 2019. This was always a winnable game up through the last decade. And I think it still is but for depth and preparation.

True. I had hoped for a 3-9 year at best.

Don't think we'll see that. Logistically 2 chances at a win left this year. Texas Tech in Lawrence and kstate in Lawrence. Those are the games with the best chances, albeit slim, but those 2 home games.

Stay competitive for a half and then have the ball bounce your way the 2nd half and pull off a win.

You could argue the Baylor game bc of how worn out we were in the 2nd, but I have seen improvement every week.

That probably doesn't translate to wins until next season, though.

True. Baylor is actually pretty damn good it seems. And KU played like shit in that first half and was still down a score with the ball coming out of half. Previous years, that KU team would have been down by 20.

What's ISU's defense like?

Sure would be nice to get beat like 49-21 rather than 56-7.

Allow 17 points per game. UNI scored 10. UNLV scored 3. Iowa scored 27 and Baylor scored 31.

But they are pretty nasty overall it seems. But can seem to struggle against the pass a bit. UNI threw for a decent amount against them. Allow the least amount of yards per game at 215. KU allows 475.

Crap. Just fully expecting a blowout. Maybe even worse than OU. They're out for blood and are super embarrassed.

It seemed they had a chance to step into the college football limelight and pulled an ISU choke. How sweet would it be to add to the embarrassment.

Fully predicting a score of something like 52-20.

A 14 point game at half that just gets out of control for a bit. And they don't sit their starters. They'll go all 4 quarters.

Iowa State may have the best defense in the Big 12.
I'd be impressed if we got 20 points on em.

Then we can expect to loose by only 3 scores instead of 5.

KU needs to account for the Tight Ends and play great run defense against a QB who wants to run and is not a great passer. I believe if the team prepares well, tackles, and opens up the passing game and QB draws, KU can play to the standard set by Northern Iowa. But we must guard the three. We could lose to an 11 seed.

Wut..? You're talking about Purdy?
He runs 6 times a game. That's not wanting to run. He is throwing his passes at a 70% clip so far this year. Lot more short passes than past years for him. But he's efficient as hell. However, he's halfway to his career high in INTs and it's only a 1/4 into the year.

This is a long time.

Important to note.
Jr QB with 2 years remaining.
Sophomore WR with 3 years remaining.
And a freshman RB.

Huh.
I woulda thought we'd have had those 3 checkmarks in the 2019 offensive outburst @ Boston College.

Didn't throw it a ton. Think Carter had 250 in the air.

It was the Pooka/Herbert show.

In my memory, Carter was just slinging that shit.
But that was a helluva night ( for KU and for me personally ).

Yup. Just 238 yards for Carter Stanley (100 to WR Parchment) but Herbert had 187 on the ground and Pooka had another 121. 329 yards rushing would be a dream at this point.
