Nope, Gutter says the offense just needs to wait and see how many points the other team scores, and score 1 point more.

a good defense is important, but a lot of times good offense beats good defense.

Guess you missed the last Super Bowl.

That was not a good offense last Super Bowl, man. That line was trash. Hence the not a good offense.

Re: Chiefs 2021
2020 season:
KC Chiefs
1st in total yards, yards per game.
Sun, Jan 24, Buffalo.
38-24.
Mahomes 94.3 QBR, 29/38, 325 yards, 3 TDs.
Tyreek Hill 9 receptions 172 yards.
Travis Kelce 13 receptions 118 yards 2 TDs.
It was absolutely a good offense.
I understand the offensive line issues - ( the only difference from Buffalo to Tampa, which is a significant loss, I think was Eric Fisher's injury, we were already busted on the O Line from the get go ) but to say it wasn't a good offense is incorrect.
We got beat by a great defense*.

Re: Chiefs 2021
Not even close to the same line!
Chiefs/Bills starters
Fisher - T
Schwartz T - Played like 10 snaps
Remmers G/T
Wylie G
Kilgore C
Chiefs/Bucs starters
Remmers T
Wylie T
Allegretti G -
Wisnieski G - Cut from Pitt earlier in year
Reiter C
Exactly 1 starter carried over and even then, his position vs the Bucs was different than what he started against the Bills
Don't come here with incorrect stupidity.

Re: Chiefs 2021
Fair.
Regardless, I would say with Mahomes, Kelce and Hill, that offense, even with the make shift line, would still rank top 10 in the NFL - which I would consider good.

Re: Chiefs 2021
I think glossed over in the OL injuries was a pretty crappy offensive game plan by Reid. His mind was elsewhere obviously. Quick passes and screens, something akin to what Philly did with their makeshift line. Still, that TB team was the best money could buy to confront the Chiefs. It was like peak NE sent special delivery to Tampa. Gronk was even gifted them.
Re: Chiefs 2021
Agreed. No shame in losing to the Bucs last year. They were on fire in the playoffs. I expect they will be a force again this postseason once it rolls around.Sparko wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 12:00 pmI think glossed over in the OL injuries was a pretty crappy offensive game plan by Reid. Re: Chiefs 2021
So funny. After decades of mediocre football in KC, everyone whines about a team that is fresh off their second Superbowl in a row has glaring holes and suspect coaching.
A lot of us lived through the Herm/Haley/Crennel years, and act like Andy Reid is a tad better than Gunther Cunningham.

Remember, his son had just had a DUI accident with fatalities. Reid was not himself and no one could have endured a similar catastrophe and been himself. The staff wasn't flying high either. Terrible tragedy.Overlander wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 12:10 pm So funny. I think the issue is we know a talent like Mahomes has a certain window.Overlander wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 12:10 pm So funny. After decades of mediocre football in KC, everyone whines about a team that is fresh off their second Superbowl in a row has glaring holes and suspect coaching.

Flags fly forever -- so for sure, the Chiefs have been super successful -- I just think they've made a collection of mistakes through the draft and FA acquisition that will hinder the success of Mahomes.
All we are asking for is an average defense.
I'm not blaming Andy at all.
Top 3 coach in the NFL.
Veach & Spags are my issues.

Josh Gordon on the 53 man roster.

Kaindoh, the late round DE from Florida State to the IR.
Josh Gordon will probably see about 10 designed plays on Sunday night. But he's for sure playing.

Re: Chiefs 2021
I'm REALLY trying to subdue my expectations for Gordon. But man, Mahomes hasn't had a guy who plays all of his snaps out wide and can just beat corners one on one. Gordon doesn't line up in the slot, like at all.
Any formation with Gordon on one side, Hill on the other and Kelce in motion across the formation is going to be tough to beat.

I don't care how long he has been away from football when a guy that is 6'3, 230 and is Josh Gordon defensives are going to pay attention until told otherwise. His presence alone could be enough to slide shaded safeties or at the very least get your third corner one on one vs Gordon. Mecole, D-Rob, Pringle and Kemp are commanding that type of attention.
I'm not concerned about his yards or TDs. If he can just be on the field half of the snaps on offense for the rest of the year this offense may reach levels the NFL has never seen before.

Yeah, his combo of size and skill, if he still has that skill, will be a great addition to the field. We'll see how much he opens up the field for Hill and Kelce and whether or not he can be where Mahomes expects him to be. It will be interesting to see how soon he will be ready to play and getting reps and targets.holidaysmore wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 2:46 pm I don't care how long he has been away from football when a guy that is 6'3, 230 and is Josh Gordon defensives are going to pay attention until told otherwise.
