GENEVA (20 October 2021) – Water is increasingly being treated as a mere commodity and even as a financial asset, a UN human rights expert told the UN General Assembly today, undermining the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation and the sustainability of the environment.

Yeah the Michigan guy talking about the abundance of clean water is . . . something.
Re: an even more frightening perspective
And your former Governor literally added poison to the water supply of a majority non-white City. So there’s that. Bet you voted for that guy, after he poisoned the people

That’s a good question, and inevitable other bored elements. But I’ve thought about it before. And I’m sure a lot of nuance and complexity and angles and stuff.
But, I think much of it may be due to religion? The general idea that “faith” can be just as good as empirical understanding.
And even if not explicitly religious, maybe take “conservative” at face value; that the world as we know it needs to be “conserved” as just that, rather than being more accepting of change.

It's interesting because 20 years ago, it was the hippie dippie libbies who were saying that truth is subjective and that we all have our own truths, and shit like that, and the right were more likely to talk about truth being absolute and based on facts, objective, etc.
Now it seems to have evolved to where many on the right just don't care if you lie as long is it's for THE cause. And trad's link supports that. It's not that they weren't blaming oil companies, or saying they shouldn't be held accountable for damages to the environment...they were saying they shouldn't be held accountable for funding disinformation campaigns.
