Make an offer. I got 3 RB1s.

I gave you a fair trade offer just a couple days ago.
Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Yeah, it was "fair" but the two guys you offered me had what? A combined 5 points today?pdub wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:39 pmThat's not true.NotGutterGutter wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 2:53 pm F my horsecrap team. Who wants my good players? I'm taking $1 bids.

Yes, I know one was injured and didn't play. Not sure about in the future but that trade would have done me no good today.
Anyways, my biggest problem right now is probably that I seem to be starting the wrong guy/s.
I started Thielen and he got me a whopping 5 points. I sat a 34.5 point Mike Williams.
Last week I started Thielen and he got me 6.1 points. I sat a 32.1 point Patterson.

Whoa... blackjack player???pdub wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 10:41 am Drafting is certainly a skill.
Just like knowing when to split your hand.
If you're sitting at a table with people who have no idea what they're doing, of course you're going to do better than them - but to a certain point, once you know the general idea, and most people at the table are doing their thing, you generally are relying more on luck than skill.
I've been playing fantasy football for 20 years.
If I were going to put a number on it, unless you're in an amateur league, i'd say it's 60% luck / 40% skill, because all the things you mentioned above, other managers are also doing.
The skill is draft preparation and long term roster management.
But there are so many cheat sheets that you can use for the draft -- and no one really knows which sheet is best -- if that was the case, you'd only follow that specific cheat sheet ( and everyone would ).
Once you've found one of those that you think you can trust, then you make your educated guesses on guys you think will strike hot according to your sheet -- and that's more luck than you think it is ( it's why guys who get paid to talk about it can completely whiff on their boom/busts ). For every guy you say you "KNEW" was gonna eat, and they are eating, you'll have plenty who you'll be completely wrong on. It happens every single season.
And then there's the simple fact of draft position and who gets picked before you - there's a lot of luck with that. You may have your targets but you aren't gonna pick your 5th round target if he gets picked at the end of the 3rd round. And then your 5th round target goes off -- well, it's unlucky that someone in your league just randomly decided to reach so high for them.
Your schedule is lucky. You can have seasons where you finish in the top half of points for but still don't finish in the top half of the league. Or you can have the reverse -- just because of fortunate matchups.
Then you have injuries, which is very much based on luck - and factors into your waiver order. You could save your waiver all season long, which is certainly a strategy, but also you could just happen to use your waiver order one week, have waited to move up to 2nd, and some RB goes down and you have no chance at the backup because someone happens to have that 1st pick that week.
Someone who says, "im just better at fantasy football," is either a. playing at a table with people who don't play blackjack or b. actually thinks it takes a great deal of skill to know what to do when you are dealt one card and the dealer is showing another.
Do you know how to count cards? Cause that a difference maker. You actually have an advantage on the house if you do. Sure you may have all the mathematics figured out but if you don't count cards then you not really taking advantage. The point of this is there is always a level up. Point is that I walk in a casino I know exactly what I'm doing. Yeah sure that one card could come out and crush this hand but the fact is long run I win.
Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Counting cards gives you a one percent edge over the house as opposed to the normal .5 to one percent advantage the house has. I’d liken it to having access to a pay fantasy advice site with a plethora of stats to go through. It’ll help some but still there’s so much luck involved.
And aren’t you 0-5?

Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Of course I will probably lose to the high point scorer for the week. Again.
Oh well, I will have a fire sale of players later in the season - just to fuck Illini.

Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Vega is the one with the super stacked team. I have a very good team (3rd in pts I think), but also a favorable schedule so far.NotGutterGutter wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 7:17 am Of course I will probably lose to the high point scorer for the week. Again.

Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Yes I am. I lost some brutal games. One week it was a field goal hit the goal post. NE makes that I win, which truthfully I was watching and for sure wanted him to miss. So that week I lose by less than 1 point without my #1 draft pick.pdub wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 1:54 am Counting cards gives you a one percent edge over the house as opposed to the normal .5 to one percent advantage the house has. I believe I am about to go 0-6 but I still like my team and believe I can go on a run. LOL

Re: KCrim Fantasy League
Man. I felt really bad for Hartjack yesterday.
He was doing well, my team was struggling. Put my phone down for about 5 minutes to do something, come back and I had 3 or 4 notifications that my guys scored. Taylor, Henderson and maybe Aaron Jones. Took a matchup that was neck and neck to a blowout. Although CeeDee Lamb made it close for him.
But he's likely going to have the 3rd best week and still lose.

Good matchup for you and I this week. Especially if Saquon is back.
