Some if not many of these particular people were NOT "peaceful".
Some were committing acts of vandalism.
If I had to diagnose the woman in the video, I'd say she's not right in the head. Forgetting her mental well being, she allegedly threw something over the fence at the White House. if so, that's a no no and she faced the repercussions of her actions. Good.
Yep.
Reading through some of the responses on that I think I have lost faith in humanity. Left has gone full Q. Facts don't matter.
I guess it's a little different. The Q folks cared about facts and were really big on doing "research"... they just thought a good source of information was whatever they read that fit what they wanted to believe.
The lefties don't even pretend to care about facts.
I'm not sure which is worse. The former is probably a more dangerous mentality, it would engrain the falsehoods deeper.
I didn’t realize the protestors weren’t playing nice.
Go figure. I don’t condone it.
I didn’t read the responses until mjl mentioned it, but it seems many folks think the protest was peaceful until cops showed up and did the escalating.
And I too don’t have much faith in humanity, but I imagine my lack of faith in humanity is for reasons beyond simply “left has gone full Q”
Cuuuz fwiw generally speaking, if wanting to not keep doubling down on fossil fuels and wanting to not keep shitting all over indigenous people is going full Q, then color me Qusdahl.
Post-truthism, believing things because you (not necessarily you you) intentionally put yourself in an information bubble, then take tweets and memes as truth.
The Qusdahl stuff adds onto that, believing in conspiracies that would require massive coordination and so many people to be"in on it" to the point that the likelihood of it being true is nearly 0.

Actually, you sure it isn’t just you trying to gaslight me?
you need to take a break and live in a world without memes, hot takes and buzzwords. I dont even know what gaslighting is or how I would even begin to do that
Honestly, I try to avoid the “information bubble” you describe, and try not to take every single tweet and meme as truth - or at the very least, I try to realize truth is a lot bigger than just one meme.
This is why i enjoy engaging others in dialogue, particularly when it’s others who don’t share the exact same views as me. (Even if/despite the dialogue may be about as productive as monkeys throwing poop).
That’s how we learn, and gain perspective, and maybe even come to some bigger and greater truth to things. Right? Maybe? That’s what I’m after, much more than just trying to validate and preserve some particular point of view.
(Honestly, the term “truth” has weirded me out ever since my religious days when all these Catholic folk would come at me with their “you must accept Christ as the TRUTH!” That may be for another thread, but I think there’s a takeaway here too)
One big difference between Qusdahl and the other Q types that you guys give no credit for is, my willingness to discuss. If somebody calls me out, I’m curious to know why, please and thanks.
Contrast that with lobster, who would oh so antagonistically go mute whenever anyone called him out on his bullshit, as if an appropriate solution to the dissonance is to bury one’s head in sand.
And if some hot take seems like a kooky conspiracy, thanks for saying so. I don’t mean to be a tin foil hat type. But I DO mean to challenge the status quo, ideally in some way intended to gain perspective; gain some greater truth (ugh that word again). I suppose it’s a fine line sometimes.
you arent willing to discuss...its been proven in multiple threads with multiple people with varying stances all telling you why you're theories we're wildly unsubstantiated and you dug your heels in and continued plowing forward just slightly changing your focus and moving goalposts....but never actually discussing.
you dont provoke deep thought and discussion as much as you throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.
I almost commented something like “sometimes it seems like certain posters are so caught up on one hot take from months ago that they just blanket dismiss everything since,” but initially didn’t.
In the meantime, look up gaslighting. Wouldn’t want you to be willfully ignorant about it.
