Another example of people being surprised their dumb behavior actually had consequences.
"I wanted to go back to class just so I could learn, I never thought they would actually arrest me. Honestly, it really surprised me to see them put me in cuffs and take me to jail," she said."

https://www.foxnews.com/media/wyoming-h ... aring-mask#

This despite the fact that they told her exactly what was going to happen and gave her the opportunity to avoid getting arrested:

“They told me they were going to do that,” she said about the time leading up to her arrest. “I was surprised they followed through. They came up to me probably 20 minutes before I was arrested and said that if you continue to not leave, we will arrest you.”

https://www.wyomingnews.com/laramieboom ... bc264.html

And then there is this gem: "“It’s because I’m growing up in a country where I’m supposed to have my God-given rights to protect, and they’re being taken away,” she said. “Everybody has the freedom to wear a mask if they choose, but I believe everybody also has the right to not wear a mask if they choose.”

Having the right to not wear a mask is "God given" ?!? Is there some sort of list of these "God-given rights" out there so that I, an unbaptized heathen, can be sure not to infringe upon any of them and not be aware of it? Links to this list are appreciated, thanks!

Unfortunately enough powerful people have not been held accountable for their actions that the “little people” think rules don’t apply to them either. Throw a few CEOs and politicians in the clink and the rest of the population won’t act like jerks. Thanks very much William Barr!

...The lab leakers tend to be more interested in biosecurity, transparency, and human hubris. They exhibit an admirable drive to follow the money, to upend centralized power, to overturn academic hierarchy, and to expose the injustices of oppressive governments. Some are China hawks. By and large, they have not done virus-hunting field or lab work.

On the natural-origin side, most people have done the kind of field and lab work that the W.I.V. pursued—and are regularly bowled over by nature’s endless diversity. They believe in scientific precedent, as opposed to uncertainties that have yet to be resolved. Many people in this camp have devoted their careers to conservation, biodiversity, and public health, and have been warning about a future pandemic for years. Spillovers most often happen because of land-use change, or human encroachment into previously wild places, which is happening on pretty much the entire planet, but particularly in areas that are developing rapidly, like south China and southeast Asia.

More than one virologist reminded me that nature is the best bioterrorist. It’s far more creative than humans are. With enough time, evolution is capable of anything we can imagine, and everything we can’t. “If you look at a platypus, you can very clearly realize that that’s not something somebody would have designed, right?” Andersen said. “Because it’s too absurd. It’s a bit of a disaster. But it works pretty well.” It occupies its own ecological niche. Some of the notable features of sars-CoV-2, Andersen said, make it “the platypus of coronaviruses.”...

Freedom to terrorize is no freedom at all. Freedom to make things up is really not protected speech. It reminds me of the South after the Civil War when they became enamored with constitutional rights enabling states rights to crush human rights.

Just leave them alone, if they want to bully, threaten, and intimidate people with misinformation, that's their choice. Why do you care what they do?

If they don't get vaccinated they can more likely die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.

if that’s what you’d qualify as evidence of the pandemic being over, you’re dumber than your posts would indicate

The numbers are going down. I hope the worst is behind us, and I think it is. The vaccines continue to work. The downward trend in infections, hospitalizations, and deaths would speed up if more people were vaccinated.

But being on the downward side of this pandemic has nothing to do with whether Americans are done with it or not.

I'm pretty sure American's "being done with this bullshit" made the most recent delta spike worse than it needed to be.
