Fentanyl makes you feel all things good, that is, for thirty minutes. Then you descend into hell, where you feel all things evil. You know what's right and wrong but you know you'll sell out again to a fix. Your self-esteme is shot. In this deadly tug of war, Satan wins, and you die stupidly in shame, while your remaining family and friends shed their tears and ask, Why?.
FENTANYL: Kills about 100 Americans per day (2017)
CBD: there are no documented cases of death from overdose.

“Opiod Abuse is a huge problem, but pain prescriptions are not the cause”
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/mi ... the-cause/
Also, government attempts to deny opioid prescription meds to chronic pain patients is driving some to the black market, which is where the Fentanyl is.

I’ve been taking some over-the-counter strength CBD, and it helps some, but at that strength no miracle drug.

When it comes to drugs and how they are "classified" and "distributed" - we live in a fucked up country.
I didn't need to read the article to realize it.
Mr. Obvious says, opioids serve a purpose and like most drugs, people can become addicted and abuse them. I happen to agree that Fentanyl is an evil drug. Sure it serves a "medical" purpose but the world was just fine before it was manufactured. I knew a former OU Tight End who became a camera-man for CBS and was sent to the Middle East during the Gulf War. He was in rehab with me and while in rehab he got a hold of some opioids ("Fentanyl?) and overdosed and died. Kid (to me he was still a kid) told me that the OU "medical staff" told him he needed to the opioids to fight through the pain of his injuries and a get his ass on the field. He HATED the University of Oklahoma "medical staff" and football "coaching staff" because as he said, "I never would have taken opioids and I never should have been playing football - I should have been shut down for the season". Sure he was the one who ingested the pills but I actually place some blame on OU for his death.
Point of my sharing that is I feel somehow, someway, opioids should be prescribed in a manner in which someone can not / will not abuse them and they will/would be closely monitored for abuse and addiction.
As far as CBD, I have found it is often either snake oil or "cut"/"laced" with shit you have no idea what it is. (Yes, I know the same can be said for "street" opioids).
Too many unknowns as far as what CBD actually does and doesn't know what it does to a body and mind.
CBD does very little for me. If I smoke a "Fatty" ("hemp joint") I occasionally get high from it. I figure it's "pure" CBD if that's the case - and I have no idea what it is that's actually getting me high.
All that being said, I go back to my first sentence and I suppose that's all I needed to share.

Re: CBD vs Fentanyl
CBD and THC are not the same thing, even though you might get both from a joint. The over-the-counter CBD I get is literally “over-the-counter” from small stores legal in Kansas and Missouri.
The chronic nerve pain I have isn’t quite as severe as the pain of people in articles I’ve linked to, but it’s real nevertheless. I tried non-prescription pain relievers on it and it was just as if I hadn’t taken anything at all. I tried that for weeks.
“How drug prohibition created the fenatyl crisis”
https://www.richmond.com/opinion/their- ... 803ed.html
The rate of increase of deaths of people with prescriptions didn’t go up. The “crisis” is deaths from heroin and fentanyl which had huge increases. OMG how I wish that the only politicians who could touch the subject were ones who had severe chronic pain themselves.
