All hinged on that play that was poorly officiated.

Shoulda been KU ball in OU territory.
Game should be played in protest.

A couple of missed tackles and we win it.

I'd just like to say that, a few hours ago, I said this reminded me of the dollar signs game. And that I hoped it marks the same sort of inflection point.

We should just line up at the spot of the turnover after the game and spike it.

I can't believe the game came down to the stripes.

Refs seem slow to call forward progress stopped in general. Chiefs got burned by one this year too.

Kansas played a great first half. Then they lost the 2nd half 35-13. Similar to several other games this year. Duke comes to mind.

I don't know what the rule is. The official seemed to suggest forward laterals (which, what?) are ok behind the line of scrimmage.

If that's true, it was a garden-variety blown call (not blowing the whistle after the guy was wrapped up three yards behind contact).

If not, it was a misapplied rule, which is far worse.

That’s very much where Ku is right now. They simply don’t have the players or depth to play 4 quarters.

As much as I say that two plays killed them. One was bad effort the other was a strange, almost un-worldly play.

It wasn't a lateral as it didn't travel through the air. It was a handoff behind the line of scrimmage. The player being handed the ball can be ahead of the guy handing it off.

It wasn't handed off. The back had crossed the LOS. Progress was stopped. QB advanced a strip fumble.

But the play was dead. The refs blew it big time. Such a shame. If KU had tried to advance a strip fumble there, they would have blown the play dead.

That’s very true. Did they call that on the field as a ‘handoff’ because that clearly him taking the ball from the RB.
The miss was definitely forward progress stopped but that second part is still some what of a mystery to me.

All in all, a fun day, which there haven't been many of watching KU football lately. Was nice to see Kansas getting discussed nationally for a few hot minutes.

The players should be proud. They look like they were well.prepared and played hard. Just too many mistakes to survive a few bad/borderline calls. Missed tackles are still a huge self inflicted problem. Maybe that improves with better depth so guys aren't as tired and aren't trying to arm tackle good players late in a game.

If the ball crosses the line of scrimmage, even if you then go back behind it, you can't hand it off forward.

I'm pretty sure his forward progress had him right at the original line of scrimmage if not slightly across it. If that's the case, the play was illegal.

There seems to be a question as to whether he crossed the LOS or not. I have only heard KU fans say that he did. Frankly, if he did and then progress was stopped then its still first down and we are just squabbling over 4 yards.

No, it was 4th and 1. He could cross Los and still be short of 1st down.

He crossed LOS and was well short of first down. Both of those things were clear on replay.
