Re: Automobiles
Yeah, porsches are cooler overall. More focused and refined machines.
The thing is tho, in terms of numbers, vette performance tends to be comparable or better, but at a fraction of the price.
A base 911 comes in at 6 figure price tag, and 379 horse. Base vette is around 60 grand for 490 horse.
But yeah Porsches are still cooler.

Re: Automobiles
If price is no factor, I agree with you. But performance per dollar, I'd give it to a Corvette. You can get a whole lotta fun for a way better price. But yeah, if money was no factor then I'd prefer a Porsche as well.Overlander wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 12:30 pmAnd it isn't even close.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Fri Oct 29, 2021 12:24 pm having driven both, i personally think porsches are more fun (boxter vs a late 80s/early 90s vette, both convertible)
Re: Automobiles
i’ve not had the pleasure of driving a “real” porsche, but the boxter we had for a couple years (wife’s inheritance) was hella fun, and at the same price point as a vette

Re: Automobiles
A guy down the street from me has a Maserati SUV that sits outside all the time. Never puts it in the garage because he has too much crap in it. I would never leave a $75k vehicle sit outside all the time, either parked in the street or driveway. But whateva.
Re: Automobiles
Do they still do 185?
Re: Automobiles
If money is no factor, have to go with an Aston Martin
Re: Automobiles
I asked this same question to Plano in his camper at the solstice, and asking now to all you guys too:
Final four cars?
Go!

Re: Automobiles
- 63 vette, split window coupe, but resto modded to do supercar things
- 64 impala with the hydraulics, basically Dr. Dre’s car
- Mid 2000’s bmw m5, cuz I figure it’s practical to have at least one comfortable sedan, and if I’m gonna have a comfortable sedan in a final four, it might as well also have a v10
- Chevy Blazer, a big old one, and 4x4’d out
I try to have some utility to it, with different vehicles for different activities.
Though right now I’m tempted to swap one for a VW bus.
It also slants more old school collectible, but that’s how I roll.
Although, if I had to pick a new car, just gimme like a nice Toyota Camry.

My first car was a 64 Chevy Impala SS, Hurst 4s shift, 2dr hardtop. I loved that car.
Re: Automobiles
My first care was a 69 Ambassador 343 CI. Thing was ugly but it would get up and move.
