yeah, exactly. what kind of human piece of shit would ever take a job as a federal employee instead of in the private sector. Every single one of those 4 million federal employees is just a worthless fucking drain on society and a despicable horrible human being. I wish every single one of those motherfuckers bad fortune so those of us that aren't federal employees can feel better about ourselves for having jobs that aren't for the federal government. I mean fuck those assholes am I right? What were they thinking taking a job to feed their families and contribute to society.
I mean, lets say you're a janitor, if you work for a company, well you're a decent human being, but if you have the audacity to be a janitor for the Federal government, then you should be drawn and quartered. Not getting paid for an indefinite amount of time is just a good start as far as I'm concerned and goddam does it make me feel good about my self-righteous ass.

Go to google and type "Trump sued by contractor". He has been sued hundreds of times for this. Talk about dumb.
It's not dumb to ask people to accept the risks of their chosen profession and perform their job even in this situation.
Lots of non-governmental jobs carry a risk of not getting paid for the work they perform. Go ask the thousands of contractors who were never got the money owed to them for work done for various Trump construction projects if they are dumb.

And it does nothing good. It hurts the economy, those employees will eventually get paid, so it's not even like it reduces government spending or some dumb idea like that. It's actually more costly, it just means a lot of people have it rough not knowing when they'll get paid for their work. It's just dumb assholes taking pleasures in other peoples misfortune. It's a kind of schadenfreude I don't understand at all.

Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
Hundreds of other liens, judgements and court filings in other cases. More than 200 mechanic liens filed by contractors and employees claiming they were owed money. Records released by the Jersey Cssino Control Commission showed at least 253 subcontractors weren't paid in full or on time. And that was just on the one Trump Taj Mahal project. I do have my facts straight, thank you.dolomite wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 11:26 amhttps://www.quora.com/Is-there-any-proo ... es-hearsay

24 additional filings for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage. And the number of people who buckled and took much less than owed under the threat of years of litigation is likely astoundingly huge.
So in a nutshell, Trump has never given a flying fuck whether Americans get paid for their work. So long as Trump gets what he wants he doesn't give a shit who he screws over to get it.

LOL
you're all over the place.
I say it's wrong that people are being forced to work without pay (because politicians are using them as a bargaining chip)....you scold me with 2 paragraphs about pros and cons of jobs.....then this.

It is not dumb to expect some government workers to have to report to work despite the fact that their paychecks are being held ransom by a childish idiot in the Oval Office. Many government jobs are essential for a smooth running society and while I feel horrible for them, such is the nature of their job and Trump is a scumbag for putting them in this position.
It is dumb for a childish idiot to refuse to pay contractors and employees for work rendered simply because he is wealthy enough and morally bankrupt enough to do it. It is also a risk of their job and Trump is a scumbag for doing what he has done for decades.
Better?
Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
Not paying people for their work is wrong. Period.
Expecting people to work while they're not being paid is wrong. Period.
The government is going to reopen. These people are going to be paid for their work....so why pretend they may not by withholding their pay during the shutdown? It's pointless. Give these people their money for their work. Figure the rest out later.

Re: Government Shut-Down Thread
Companies going bancrupt is pretty irrelevant to this entire convo. But we've got to turn it into outrage about Trump.
Odd that you're outraged over bancrupt real estate entities but not federal workers who aren't getting paid....
The real victims in this mess are the government workers who aren't being paid, whether they're working or not.

Mich simply cannot concede when he has taken the "L." It's one thing to joke about how a shutdown is what this country needs because government is too big (which I have done in this thread). It's something else altogether to insist that you're not joking and that your ideology necessitates that you enjoy people suffering to make a point.
That's the conservative dilemma these days. We had a choice between the Nice-ish but hopelessly ineffective establishment Republicans and the mean but (presumably) effective Trump-esque Republicans.
What we've ended up with, though, is meanness without effectiveness. Just plain spite.

Regardless, I don't think it's fair that these people aren't being paid while they work. No amount of trump stories you provide me will change my mind that these federal workers being hurt in this fashion over a political dispute between the president and Congress is acceptable.

Reveling in the fact that people don't get a paycheck is another.
Even the most libertarian person in the world would likely concede that there are some necessary federal jobs, and that the people doing those jobs probably ought to get paid for them.
I don't like Frontier Cable because I don't like their service. I would not celebrate that a Frontier Cable employee was not getting paid.

It is not dumb to expect them to do their important jobs. Our country needs them to even though it sucks they are being forced to.
And it is not acceptable that the President is doing this to them.
Two separate things.
