I have nowhere condoned his behavior. In fact, I have been pretty clear that I think it is stupid, and probably a symptom of some cognitive challenges. If he hadn't done what he did, the deaths would not have happened. Likewise, if the dead and wounded individuals had stayed home instead of acting like jackasses, or even if they had acted like jackasses, but chosen not to chase down a minor and try to beat him and shoot him, it never would have happened. He has his entire life ahead of him, and I hope he gets to live it and learn from his mistakes.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 3:25 pmIt's surreal to me when people such as yourself condone a 17 year old who took an AR-15 (that he himself said looks "cool") to PLAY the role of FAKE "certified EMT" to a "riot" zone - and because of it, multiple people are dead and he is on trial for homicide.JKLivin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 1:29 pm It is a truly surreal moment in history when people condemn a frightened 17 year-old trying desperately to protect himself from being beaten to death and make martyrs out of people who, while rioting, looting, and wantonly destroying property, feel the need to chase down, assualt, and threaten the aforementioned 17 year-old. Re: Kenosha
They sure as hell tried. Hitting people in the head with skateboards and pulling and pointing a pistol at someone's head are a pretty good clue as to intent. I wouldn't want to have to make a split second decision under those circumstances.

0 people killed by "rioters and looters"
Re: Kenosha
Yeah, the judge said the “rioters and looters” could only be referred to as such if there was evidence to prove they were engaged in such activity. Thus far, no one has been charged with anything but Kyle.
How come the guy with pistol hasn’t been charged with anything? Genuinely asking.
Perhaps it’s cuz prosecutors think his raising a pistol may be an even more open and shut case of self-defense? He was raising it toward a guy who had just blasted two others. I dunno.

Re: Kenosha
Speaking of intent, whaddya think of the fact Kyle was on video a couple weeks prior saying he wishes he could shoot rioters and looters?
Or the fact the judge refused to admit that as evidence?

I'm going to assume you're a compassionate person. While admirable if true, let's be honest here.
The kid has proven he is a piece of shit. Can he change? Sure, he can but I'm not counting on it.
Why would I?
Especially when his current self worth comes from being made a cult hero by an abundance of assholes.

If he walks, I’m concerned he’s gonna NOT learn from his mistakes, and instead feel emboldened by a verdict favorable to him, and it’ll be just a matter of time til he does more stoopid shit.

The difference is, he wasn't initating aggression. He didn't make other people feel like their lives were in danger until they first did so to him. He also retreated after brandishing the weapon and they continued to pursue him. Not a good move when the guy you keep chasing and clubbing in the head has an AK. I'm no lawyer, but I think the point the judge made was that there is a difference between words and actions. If the guy would have said, "I wish I could club you over the head with my skateboard," or the other one said "I wish I could pull my Glock and point it at your head," Rittenhouse would not have been justifified in his actions. Since they actually DID those things, though . . .ousdahl wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 4:01 pmSpeaking of intent, whaddya think of the fact Kyle was on video a couple weeks prior saying he wishes he could shoot rioters and looters?

Interesting. You didn't answer my question with a definitive yes or no.JKLivin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 4:30 pmHow is Kyle Rittenhouse a White supremacist? Regardless, to answer YOUR question......
1) I have to assume you didn't click on the link I provided. Those are the people I was referring to.
2) Did I say Rittenhouse was a white supremacist? I don't know if he is or not. I am extremely confident those he has chosen to hang out with and wallow in their praise - are. As the link I provided pretty much proves.
Many (but of course not all) of the people who are defending him and his actions are white supremacist assholes. Some may say that's my opinion but I believe it's a fact as much if not more than it's my opinion.
I think it was ousy who alluded to, if this kid gets off, he is going to be a far right superstar (and as I have referred to him as - a cult hero) going forward. That's extremely nauseating to me.
