Black Friday Game Thread: KU vs Dayton

I hate to sound like Fran Fraschilla, but I am pumped about only one turnover. If we take care of the ball all year (which we should because Remy and Harris are nails), we shouldn't be out of a single game all season.

Pretty much everyone looked good in that first half, but I'm most excited about Yes. He looks more comfortable on both ends and has a good feel for finding lanes to drive and finish.

Shouldn't we count DMac dribbling while 1 foot from the basket and then forcing up a shot after giving the defense a chance to adjust and contest the shot as an unofficial turnover?

I would've looked a lot smarter had I posted this thought before the game, but here it is:

My one concern with this team, outside of having nothing reliable inside, is that when another team makes a run like this and we need a bucket -- who is capable of getting one on command? I think Self would like for it to be Dave because it's the most straight-forward, run some sort of action that gets him a look on the block, but Dave is not remotely reliable even 2 feet from the basket. OA has been our best player all season, but is his skillset suited to breakdown a set defense and score on command? Maybe. I think it might end up being Remy because he's willing to take whatever shot and can hit nearly all of them. The concern with him is that he'll overdo and shoot us right out of a game.

Even with just two turnovers the press forces KU to make quick decisions in halfcourt. It wastes about eight seconds. Need to sub more because the effort is tough on both ends.
