I bet I could go into any shopping mall and ask 10 people what they think about purchasing a firearm to which an unstable minor has access and eight good folks will say it is no big deal, a loon on the left will advocate that guns should be outlawed and a loon on the right will say minors should have unfettered access to guns.

I'm not sure I understand your post. Do you mean you're guessing that I haven't read about what happened at the school and the possible extended (not extenuating) circumstances?
I have read a little bit about it. Not much.
As far as recent news regarding it, I know his parents have had involuntary manslaughter (homicide?) charges brought against them and they didn't show up to their arraignment today.

So the kid pleaded not guilty. Wonder why he thinks he's not guilty of murdering a bunch of kids and shooting several more. This will be an interesting trial.

Parents pleaded not guilty as well. That's why they ran and left their kid behind, cuz they're innocent.

I like rule of law. But too many of these shooters really never answer sufficiently for their crimes. A long stay in prison doesn't right any wrongs. There are a few crimes where a death sentence is warranted and quickly. Randomly killing in front of national media, then surrendering, is one of those.

I do like extending guilt to the parents. Kyle Rittenhouse, multiple murderer, was assisted materially by his mother.
