I know Perry was AA, but he was also notorious for going MIA in the big games - you know, the kinds of games in which he might be matched up against NBA-caliber talent.

If nova was more of an outlier, that woulda been a less difficult pill to swallow, than it was just yet again Perry being Perry.

But shit.

Let’s try to dial down the bickering about rotations from like last decade.

Can’t we look ahead?

Where’s the hot take on south Asian soup joints in El Paso?

So, you'd have rather played diallo and lost by 25 instead of 5?

Not really a valid way to think about it, but neither is this:

I would have rather rolled the dice on Cheick producing more than 4 points in 34 minutes like Perry.

He’s at 5 points and 4 boreds in 12 mpg in his nba career average. Currently trying to wrap my mind around how a guy can average more career minutes in the NBA than he did in college.
1) Developing later
2) Longer games

1) Joel Embiid averaged 23 mpg in college and 30 mpg in the NBA. Devin Booker averaged 21mpg in college and 33mpg in the NBA
2) Steph Curry averaged 32mpg in college and 34 mpg in the NBA. Michael Jordan averaged 30mpg in college and 36mpg in the NBA

Actually, I was critical of Perry’s softness in real time too.

Er, Crauw

Like for real get out of my thread. Go start your own “15-16 lineup” thread or some shit.

I like how it went from me talking shit on Perry just now after the fact, to me talking shit on Perry as part of some dated tired shtick now, while I’m sitting here begging to just keep the discussion to the 21-22 lineup.

Exactly.

This is a bizarre hot take. Especially with the added benefit of seeing how little Diallo has developed in the 5 years since being at KU. He wasn't an extra 100min of game experience away from being an elite college player. He was years away.

...and had he stayed just 1 more year he'd likely have played MAJOR minutes his sophomore year.

Do you think it's more of the Wiggins types that have made Self great or the Frank/Devonte types? Lower ranked guys that stay multiple years and develop into great college players.

Frank and Devonte were ranked closer to a Mitch Lightfoot type HS ranking than an Andrew Wiggins type HS ranking.

Yes, the multi year players who weren't top 30 players are who have made Self great. Frank Devonte TRob Tyshawn Releford Darnell Sasha the list goes on and on...and yup it includes guys like Jamari Traylor and Landen Lucas.
