KU Volleyball

Post by NewtonHawk11 »

Just scrolling through my Twitter. Completely forgot volleyball was playing #14 Creighton to go to Sweet 16. Beat #19 Oregon last night. Beat Creighton tonight 3 sets to 1 to love on to next weekend.

Good for Bechard and the ladies over there. I’ve been to a few matches. It’s a fun thing to watch.

I think they have a freshman setter too who is really good. Kind of struggled for a bit after that deep run like 5 year ago. But seem young and talented.

Another reason for B1G to invite us.

I have read that the best HS talent in Kansas is in women’s volleyball. Lot of Kansas girls on good programs.

I had no idea the womens volleyball tournament was set up like match madness. That’s awesome.

Would be great to see them make the final four. School needs success in the non revenue sports as well.

The KC area programs are absolutely insane. But even Wichita area schools have their fair share as well. Kansas sends D1 talent throughout the country.

They made the Final Four or the championship like 5-6 years ago, didn't they?

Yes--and Nebraska of course has really flourished--no reason why KU can't keep up. I like the fact they are rolling at the right time. A 1988 feel to this team.

It seems there is enough talent, with a stable AD, to be a perennial tourney team. No reason why we can’t.

I wonder how long Bechard hang on? I went to the Albany match, and maybe it’s just a volleyball thing, but the assistants did all of the tactical coaching throughout the match.

The last match I went to, which was a few years ago. The assistant coaches on both teams are the ones that called out everything. Where to serve, what set play, substitutions and all of that. Seems in that sport, the head coaches truly serve as the CEO.

Mostly outclassed in the first set.

Pitt showing the difference between playing a Top 3 team and Top 25 team.

I have been tuning in and out. Pitt is really good although Kansas is still trying to hang in there in this 2nd set.

Pitt was damn good. Lots of youngsters on that squad. Going to be hosting a match like that at AFH in a couple years.
