Yeah, turns out it was actually some broken part they had to rush up from Denver.

Tourists displayed a hint of understanding when another manager explained, sorry but we aren’t the big city, we’re a rural mountain community, and don’t necessary have every single everything in stock at the local mom and pop hardware store/souvenir shop.

For real though, props to the excavator guy who even had his little kids helping to dig last night while tourists barked about how yall weren’t working hard enough.

ground frozen hard enough to break pipes 3 or 4 feet down isnt going to be dug with a shovel.....that excavator probably struggled digging that frozen soil

I called yall to make aware, and they said “actually we just went to the rec center yall got us access to and spent the afternoon. We saw the thing on the keychain that says “$50 fee if not returned,” and so we intentionally left it at the rec center downtown just to spite yall, deal with it.”

I apologize again, and assure you we didn’t do anything intentional. But I was just calling to say the water is back on, and since your request all along was to remain in that same unit, we wanted to invite you back, with a refund to offset the final night’s expenses.

Well we went and booked a different hotel anyway. We want yall to pay for that instead.

Sorry, but we aren’t able to pay for other accommodations, especially since we’ve offered you multiple options to stay with us otherwise.

Actually sir, we offered a comparable unit as soon as we became aware of the issue, but yall were apparently too busy loosing your shit, both figuratively and literally, to even stop and consider it….

I will admit I have only met a handful of excavators in my adult life, but i don't know many jobs of that type where the worker brings their kids to the work site in an emergency situation.

I will admit I have only met a handful of excavators in my adult life, but i don't know many jobs of that type where the worker brings their kids to the work site in an emergency situation.

I mean...small towns....it happens occasionally. But would be odd to bring kids in 14 degree weather and tell them to dig with shovels....


its also odd that it was some dude with an excavator.....a water main should fall under the jurisdiction of the city and be addressed by municipial authorities and work crews.
