Just watched the game. My 5yo had a basketball game at the same time as KU… Of course. Anyways, here are my thoughts:

-Mitch Lightfoot played a great game. We look better when he’s in there vs Dave.
-Dave is still a spazz, but I believe I heard he leads the league in OREB%. That’ll play.
-Juan needs to shoot more. Great game.
-Lands had his best shooting performance of the year. Feels like he’s going to have a 20pt game in league play.
-Yesufu seems like the lights are too bright right now. Starting to wonder if he should’ve RS?
-Wilson is not going to start for this team unless someone gets hurt. He’s going to have to figure out how to better impact the game. We don’t reach our ceiling until he does.
-Teahan’s smoking cigarette gesture was gold.
-Cuonzo Martin needs to be fired. They don’t have 1 guy who could play for us.

Interesting takes...agree with some, disagree with others...

-our best stretches were early in both halfs with Dave out there, not Mitch.
-Dajuan doesn't need to shoot unless he's wide open, but when he's wide open he has to shoot them.
-JCL probably won't play enough to ever have a 20pt game unless we have an injury and his minutes go up. He's 8th man in the rotation and looking at 5-8mpg.
-Cuonzo may or may not deserve to be fired. But is there someone better that they can actually get?

Clearly Yes is on the outside looking in minutes wise, but I'm not sure I understand why? He looked totally lost defensively and offensively earlier this year, but not now? This just feels like the inevitable cutdown for Bill's teams and it's more pronounced now with a deeper squad.

I don't think Yesufu is as good as Harris yet. I don't think it's anymore complicated than that.

It is amplified by the fact that with the vast improvements of CB and Och ballhandling wise we don't need 2 of the small guards in at all times. CB and Och have demonstrated the ability to be get the ball up the court against pressure. I also think Harris makes CB Och and even Remy better when he's on the floor, and that matters because those are our 3 stars.

It is a numbers (minutes) game. With Remy CB and Och all likely getting to or staying at/above 30+mpg, and JW and JCL both ahead of Yesufu on the depth chart, there just isn't going to be much of an opportunity this year. Remy/Harris are currently at 26ish min per game each. I expect Remy's to continue to climb. CB at 31mpg and Och at almost 33mpg.

Hats off to Harris and CB for working hard to improve their games. They're completely different players this year, and we are better because of it.
