Umm, hasn't Biden learned ANYTHING from Trump?

Mericans HATE presidents who listen to the courts.

that’s behind a paywall, but aren’t those leases that were already in place?

i can see having legal, contractual obligations even if the lease was ongoing or hadn’t yet been activated

my biggest issue is with brand new leases

jfc

The Biden administration admitted that a court decision did not compel it to lease vast tracts of the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas drilling, shortly before claiming it was legally obliged to do so when announcing the sell-off, the Guardian can reveal...

What the hell.
Two things I don't get.
1. Why? What motivation is there to do that?
2. Biden lies a disturbing amount. Not nearly the level of TFG, but so often it's just unnecessary.

at the end of the day, there's only one political party in Merica.

it comes in two flavors, red and blue, that sometimes appear different, and def put for the effort to appear so.

At the end of the day tho they are both pretty much the same, in that they mostly just serve the interests of the oligarchy.

Ugh, that kind of reasoning is why the party that has gone full fascist and lacks any actual principles is so politically viable still

I agree. That’s the lazy, Illy-take on complex situation.

Thanks for keeping me grounded you guys.

Of course, that’s a take from the Qusdahl lefty circles. They like to point to things like, gummint letting oil and pharma and the MIC do whatever they want, while also not providing healthcare or family leave or other things that are considered a basic standard of living in other countries.

But I trust you guys more than I do Qusdahl.

Pushing for those things to be addressed as you are doing there, vs saying both parties are the same, which is what zsn and I replied to, aren't the same. In fact they're effectively opposites.

how so?

it's just examples of how the gummint is friendlier to corporations than to the working class. Would you disagree?

and how does pointing that out become the reason for why one party has gone full fascist and lacks any actual principles while still being politically viable?

it's crazy how close lefty Q and righty Q are about things.

lots of the same gripes, but completely different reasons for getting there.

Answer to first question: one pushes for ideas, that can make it into a party's platform over time. The other says that fascism and centrism are the same, so the natural conclusion to that would be to just completely give up and disengage from the political process.

Answer to the second question: It's not the reason they are unprincipled fascists, it's the reason they can be unprincipled fascists and still get elected.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but they really are. There's a significant chunk of the Q community that had been Bernie supporters. Lobster's a perfect example.

not being sarcastic. yea they really are.

in a way, it almost seems more difficult to point out the differences, rather than the similarities.

Both think the world is controlled by a ruling class of corrupt elites.

I guess a big difference is one side thinks that is cuz of systemic inequality and a lack of education and organization among working classes, and the other side thinks that’s cuz, like, “the jooze”

That’s why Qusdahl’s all like, I realize I might be wrong, but for real it makes a lot more sense if you go read theory written by some guy you should have learned about in western civ class

And lobster’s all like, I couldn’t possibly be wrong, now go read this link to a literal nazi message bored with swastikas and everything

But again in classic Qusdahl I might be wrong mode, maybe that’s just the meme level of understanding about it.
